with how much you have to drink in that game, i found the snail pace walking when you're drunk absolutely terrible. at one point I got drunk in a town, didn't have medicine, couldn't make it to a campfire in less than an hour real time to meditate off the effects...

stopped playing then. 🙁
 
It was pretty terrible, I tried to sell/give away my copy for over a year. I finally broke down and opened it up since the game had become so cheap.

It is in fact terrible.
 
I agree, I bought into the hype here and got it on a steam sale for like $5. I overpaid. played maybe 30 min got bored and never opened it again.

lol. Maybe the real problem is your attention span?

I played the game and found it slow at the start, but it does get better. I haven't finished it yet (thanks a lot life!) but I will soon.

I wouldn't say it sucks, just too cumbersome and uninteresting.

I think if you love Morrowind, you will like the Witcher, but complain that it is "low on content" 😀
 
I thought it was a very enjoyable game, and have preordered The Witcher 2. 🙂

It should also be noted the CDProjek Red, the developer, is very committed to DRM-free games, founded and maintains the excellent Good Old Games.com sites, actually supports their products after release, and hasn't yet nickel and dimed their customers with idiotic DLC. That makes them worth supporting.
 
The Witcher was great,especially if you are RPG fan,don't know why some people don't like ,but then there is no accounting for taste 😉.

I have pre-ordered Witcher 2 as well.

Umm, bullshit. You're never more than a couple of minutes from a campfire in town. You're lying.
 
I enjoyed the Witcher alot. I never got plastered and had to stager to a campfire though.
Seems like a game thats either loved or hated.

Concur. Also, you only 'need' to get plastered a few times in the game. Other times, its your choice whether to drink till you can barely stand. And if you do, have Geralt stand in a moderately safe place while you get up and use the bathroom, refill your drink, and come back. When you get back, Geralt will be sober again.
