I've never seen an episode on TV (no cable or HBO for me), but I do see them filming it several days a week, on my way to work.

I haven't seen them filming downtown in several weeks, so I'm hoping they are in production. The wait is killing me. Luckily, Deadwood is coming June 11!

Best show on TV bar none. The shield is nearly catching up, but not quite.

Any idea if Deadwood and Rome are coming back?

I believe they both are. Deadwood for sure.

Which is better?

I have a feeling I'd like Deadwood more.

I like the wire more, but they are both great. Deadwood is almost like a british pomp & circumstance / merchant ivory movie set in a western and focusing mostly on peasants. It's crass but still prim and proper often somehow. Lots of dense dialogue.

The wire has a tone like heat but where the "big gun battle" never happens. It's basically entire seasons of staking out and figuring out a labyrinthine pecking order in a drug world where we get to see the drug world at the same time. It's by the creator of homicide and the corner.

Sorry I was asking between Deadwood and Rome which I have never seen.

I have seen every episode of "The Wire" and know that it rocks :)

Sorry, wasn't paying attention. Deadwood is a lot better than rome. Rome is too cold / not emotionally gripping. I still like it, though. Everyone is so vile in rome.

The Wire is a very good show. If memory serves me they busted every gangster in the last episode so where to now?

Deadwood got pretty old for me. The language just to crude, not that the words bother me but the C word every other line was too much.
