The consumers. I am getting so sick of all these "x800 XT PE is the BADDEST!!" and "6800GT clearly superior to x800" and all the IQ debates. It's really pretty sophmorish and pathetic. Both companies have
great products not to mention plenty of choices for anyones needs or budget.

Discussion about technology or a particular cards strong or weak points is a good thing, but all this arguing and mudslinging over who is the best or who's beating who is stupid. "Well this card supports this feature and gets a whole 8FPS more in this game, blah blah blah...." The fact is that all of these new cards are quality products and deserve their props. We as the consumers are the only winners.

Enough BS fanboy threads, let's see some objective and informative topics.

Well, I would agree with you, but there is the small fact that both NV and ATi are letting us consumers down.

I agree with you, lets stop the flaming.

Now if only companies like ATi, nVidia, id, and Valve could actually get something tangible out without teasing and pestering us gamers for months on end then maybe the world would be a happy place. I guess thats like wishing for world peace though, isn't it? ;)

I think it echos the sentiments of many of the logical members here quite well.

Then watch the forum become dead and boring as 80 percent of the new postings disappear. Then of course another flame war will erupt as people fight over who is more informed and objective. I will then sit and enjoy the fireworks. It'll be just like real life. Graphics forums are like the CNN and Foxnews, AlJezeera of computing.

i wish they had that game at the casino.. at my local casino they have the pick a side of the coin your gonna place your money on and watch the other side come up everytime game lol ;)

The consumers are not winning.. These are the most expensive cards I have seen in a LONG time. Wasn't the 9700 Pro released at 299 or something? Either way I know it was not like 550 which alot of places are. I personally got on the Outpost X800 Pro deal for $330 which should ship the 3rd.

No, it was $399. I remember because I was thinking of getting it Quakecon 2002. The prices of these card fall in line with previous releases.

Either way 399... The top end cards this time are 499 which im sorry 100 bucks is quite a bit of money and because ATI and NV are taking so long to get reasonable amounts of cards to retailers theyretailers are guaging by another 50 bucks it is BS. Unless u find a good deal which is few and far between because all the "good deals" are back ordered to hell.

Agree any card of this generation is a major winner. All come close to doubleing the performance of prev.

But these guys like splitting hairs and getting all hot and bothered; just like republicans and democrats do even though they are virtually identical.

Yeah prices (MSRP's) are on the high side no doubt, but with the way things are starting to shake out I'd expect prices to fall a bit by the end of summer. And let's face it, any decent card released withing the past 1.5-2 yrs. is adequate for any current game. For those that are in need of an upgrade now there's plenty to choose from for <$150.
