By law, you can't alter a car beyond the auto manufacturer's original design.

So if my tires go bad, can I get new ones that are a different model?

Not that I wanted these in my neighborhood, but I don?t think this is right.
But Oakland traffic cops say it wasn't hard to discover that the whistle tips were never legal in the first place. By law, you can't alter a car beyond the auto manufacturer's original design. So police are tracking down violators.

Don't ask me I don't understand that at all. I think the reporter incorrectly quoted them. Either that or I guess I'm breaking the law every 3K miles when I change oil

Yeah, that no mods thing is very messed up / wrong. I'd have preferred to see a no siren like device rule or noise ordinance type rule instead for why they banned them. Well, as long as they use selective enforcement on this one.

Actually, I mentioned this a long time ago and nobody believed me. Yes, it's a law... no, you won't get pulled over/ticketed for it. (Unless you are being Satan himself to the officer). It's one of those never enforced laws... because well... it's stupid.

More evidence the Country as a whole becoming a Police State under Miltary Doctrine Rules. The car belongs to the Govt not you. You are only able to quasi own the priviliedge to drive it, you cannot modify it in anyway.

WTF?

I would guess that this isn't a highly enforced law. That is until the alteration in question puts someone like W000 W000 man on the tv as a representative of the citizens of their fair city.
