See, but what I like IS better...at least to me. Most people ask for opinions about movies. I give mine, like everyone else does.

Well, it is one thing to say the following: "I don't like XYZ movie because it did A,B, and C incorrectly." Although it is a negative comment, it is backed with reasoning and gives some insight that someone may not have noticed.

It is another thing to say: "XYZ movie sucked". It is a negative comment that didn't add anything to the conversation. Albeit, it is usually easy to ignore comments like this as just 'the persons opinion'.

But this third comment is completely odd: "I refuse to patronize anything affiliated with Tom Hanks.Guaranteed to be crap." Not only is it a negative comment, but it screams of personal bias and unbacked opinion. The reviewer isn't going on the fact that they watched the movie and found flaws, they arn't even going on watching the movie. They are simply going on the fact that, one of the actors happens to be someone whose movies they havn't liked in the past. Comments like this are just plain ignorant.

Shrug, that is just how I see it. 90% of the time, I don't post when I hate something. There are many, MANY times where I've had a negative post all written out and then realized that it didn't really help the situation at all and I clicked back. This would almost be one of those times, except then you would never know :)

No not that, just that the building blew up and the movie was over. I just wanted a little more about the repercussions....(I'm talking about the right movie, correct?)

What repercussions? There were no repercussions. Robbins' character went about his merry way while Bridges' character was shown as a nutcase (in the TV news clips they showed at the end). What a great twist.

I'll give you The Untouchables

But...uh...Robin Hood? "Git off mah land!"

oooof

Alan Rickman and Morgan Freeman's performances make up for Kevin Costner's spectacular lack of acting ability, much less an English accent. ;)

Also, I never ever judge a movie by who is starring in it. I would never say "I won't watch that movie because xyz star is in it". Someone can be good in 1 role and bad in another. Or they could be bad in every role and just do an excellent job in this one movie. Either way, you are excluding yourself from seeing something that you may otherwise like based on assumptions.

Rickman was made for that role. Probably his best role (even better than in Sense and Sensibility.

But, Costner can never be forgiven for Waterworld and Wyatt Earp and...one of the all-time pieces of sh!t, The Bodyguard. He just doesn't pick his roles well. I thought he was good in Silverado as well as Revenge.

He's a LOUSY actor, IMO. His only movies that are decent are: Waterworld, Tin Cup, Untouchabales, and Silverado.

Of course, you're rendering judgment on a movie that you haven't seen, and it's a pity, because it's a funny, sexy film.

I liked Wyatt Earp and The Bodyguard :). Maybe not for his acting, but the movies were good in general. Who was that doctor in Wyatt Earp w/ Big Nose Kate. He was cool.

By Grabthar's Hammer, you're completely wrong! ;)

I also thought his casting as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films was particularly inspired. But I can't think of any roles I've seen Rickman in where he hasn't been anything short of brilliant.

Egadzooks!!

The Bodyguard was just complete and utter tripe and, besides, it had that damn Whitney Houston caterwauling. AHHH!! I just want to slice myself up with knives whenever I hear that damn POS "song".

And, compare Wyatt Earp to Tombstone then tell me how you think ;)

That's my loss and I'm willing to accept it if it keeps me from having to sit through crap.

Hey, now there's an actor. Val Kilmer kicks some ass in that film. Unfortunately he hasn't had many stellar roles since.

Have to agree w/ya there! At First Sight was ok but he was good in Heat.

Appears he's been busy lately, though!

You forgot "The Salton Sea". Been meaning to rent that. Anyone see that and have an opinion? Sounded pretty interesting.

I didn't like Heat. The Salton Sea was about a 2.5/5 for me.

I've never heard of most of those movies listed. :)

Didn't like Heat???? Good gawd, dude! You're the first person I've ever heard that didn't like that. Damn! De Niro and Pacino together again. Val Kilmer. Jon Voight. Ashley Judd. Amy Brenneman.

DAMN!!

I love giving my sound system a workout with that DVD!

I've not seen The Salton Sea so can't say on that one.

The others I posted are movies he's completed that have not yet been released or are still under production.

Well yea, comparing Wyatt Earp to a better movie isn't fair :). It was still a decent movie though. And Whitney Houston was hot in The Bodyguard. That was back when she was younger . (I might need to hide after that last comment).
