well, "they" just bought me a new computer - I did not have any say in it, as I was hired post ordering. Let's see, it's a Dimension 2400 celeron with a shared video, 2.59 GHz, 256 MB, XP. Well, needless to say, I requested more memory, but it's still pretty damned SLOW! Just means my productivity slows down as well. It sucks having a slow computer 🙁

G4 400MHz 1.5GB RAM running 10.4.2. Slow as molasses. Upgrading to a G4 2x 1.25GHz on Wednesday though - should help a lot.

Dell Optiplex GX280

Got the optional vid card, x300 for dual monitor support, working on getting extra ram

Dell Optiplex GX260 2.66ghz P4
1GB RAM
80GB HDD
32MB Radeon 7000 w/2 17" CRTs

Not the fastest PC, but a racehorse compared to the crappy 733mhz p3 I had up until 3 months ago.

1GHz P3,
512MB
2x60GB IDE
Zip250 (that I haven't used since we got flash drives 😀 )
DVD burner scrounged from a defunct project - couldn't let them send it back to property like that now could I?!?
dual head, 19" - 2nd one runs off of a PCI card I bought on eBay for $20, saved the monitor from the property pile.
Fedora 4 as of last week.

I should be eligble for the desktop replacement program next year - they're replacing up to 800MHz this year.

to my left, my dell latitude d600 laptop
to the front, some old HP/Compaq Proliant ML370 G2
to the right, just upgraded to a dell optiplex G280

edit: pic

I have three for three different networks. Two are good, one is crap (128MB of RAM for WinXP -- really fun to work on).

Oh, they are all Dells. Government loves them these days.
