The way it's SUPPOSED to be!

My wife is due to deliver our first child in late December (Woohoo!), so she's only about two months along right now and not really showing anything in the belly department. She doesn't get morning sickness, either, and is only as moody as she's always been. Her pregnancy just doesn't manifest itself, so I don't think about it very much right now.

That wasn't the case last night, however. After my wife gets home from work, she likes to get comfortable and put on her flannel PJs. As we were about to sit down and watch a DVD after dinner, she comes to the couch with a bowl of ice cream. I (naturally) complained, wanting some ice cream, as the rules at our house say that if you get yourself ice cream, you should get your spouse some as well. As my sweet wife went back to the kitchen to get my ice cream, I had a moment of enlightenment.

Here I had in front of me everything that every man dreams of: a beautiful woman that's barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen! The way it's SUPPOSED to be!

I told my wife this fact and she just laughed me off. Still, how sweet it is! 🙂

Trust me, I'm well aware that my wife is going to start hating me for no reason whatsoever in the coming months. The last thing I'd want to do is bring this up again. 😉

Awesome post! Good luck!

Actually, during the course of both preganancies I've taken pictures of my wife cooking, or pulling food from the oven while visibly pregnant and barefoot. 😉

I think at the time I told her (tongue in cheek) that's the way I like my women. Now that our second child is in the final stages of being using the toilet, our house should be free of diapers. Also since she stopped nursing, the bedroom activity has become more frequent, and of better quality as well.

TRUST ME (and the rest of us)... you only THINK you know how your wife is going to be and your life is going to change.

It's ALL over buddy. EVERYTHING.

These folks are right. Celebrate/relax while you can. You'll NEED it. My daughter is 14 months; and it's been non-stop work for my wife and myself 😀
