The war on christmas is one of the biggest non-issues around. An idea invented by morons who secretly want nothing more than to be persecuted despite the fact that they make up the vast majority of the country. Morons with martyr complexes.

If you are offended by season's greetings or happy holidays you are an idiot with too much time on your hands. If you are offended my merry christmas you are overtly sensitive and should maybe grow a thicker skin.

I would be ashamed to be associated with either side of this idiotic non-issue, there are far more important things going on in this world to bother wasting air time or bandwidth on this crap.
 
Christmas has become a nonsecular holiday in most of the Western world at this point. It's a cultural event now and less of a religious one.

I am not a Christian and I have celebrated Christmas my entire life. If some foreigner or religious person don't like it, well, I don't care.

I remember people saying "happy holidays" long before "PC" became something companies worried about. It's a traditional, American-as-fucking-apple-pie saying. Not only does is it inclusive of other religions (who have a rich history in America), but it is inclusive of NEW YEARS and THANKSGIVING, and the entire "holiday season."

Again, anyone offended by "happy holidays" is a weeping, pus-filled vagina.

Soooo... using a greeting that includes blacks, jews and christians (and encompasses thanksgiving and new years) is worse than a greeting that only includes one? Sounds like idiocy to me.

AFA isn't winning per se they are just throwing a tantrum like a child that didn't get the gift they wanted. Companies aren't adding Christmas to stuff because the AFA has a point they are just doing it to shut the whining babies up.

If you have a problem with season's greetings or happy holidays you are a sad pathetic moron deserving of no sympathy and your tantrums are a distraction away from the numerous other things that are more important going on.

This is true. "Happy Holidays" and "Season's Greetings" are longstanding, all-American greetings. NO ONE should be offended by being so greeted.

However, whenever not inappropriate, which is most of the time, I prefer booming out "Merry Christmas!" It just feels more in the spirit for me. Then I let 'em tug on my long white beard!

The prettier adult females even get to sit on my lap and tell me what they want . . . after which I let 'em know what I want. :biggrin:

From what I've seen, it's the people who get offended when you DON'T say "Christmas" that are causing the big stink. It's radical "Christians". They somehow think that you're de-valuing "their" holiday by not saying it. A weird bunch of idiots.

I work a (very) part-time retail gig, and I actually like the way "happy holidays" sounds over "merry christmas" so that's what I say. I can't help but smirk when someone tries to "correct" me into saying merry christmas, like it really matters.
 
I'm not a Christian, but since the holiday is called Christmas, we should continue to do so. I just hate idiots who talk about "let's put Christ back into Christmas!" in their facebook statuses and whatnot.

Yeah. I've even had people tell me I shouldn't celebrate Christmas because I'm not Christian. Fuck that, I'll eat all the delicious candy/cookies and exchange gifts all I want. It's a great occasion to spend time with family and friends, if for no reason other than everyone has at least a few days off.
 
I have no qualms with saying Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.

Also, if your seasonal section contains decorations for more than just Christmas (Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc), then maybe it should be called something else, because specifying "Christmas" would imply that the other decorations are not there.

Gee that is funny...At my previous job, when they had Christmas music piped in on our intercom system, someone complained that the music offended them so they had to stop. This person was not even a minority.
 
I prefer happy holidays over Christmas.

I also prefer things like Winter Break over Christmas break or whatever people call it.

Christmas reminds me of religious nutters.
