The Wallflowers

Anyone here know of the band The Wallflowers? Some of their successful songs include "One Headlight" and "6th Avenue Heartache". I love both of those... great songs to just listen to. However, I haven't heard them on the radio in a long time, and I never hear anybody mention them. Seems to me, they are quite an unknown band or underappreciated, I dunno. What do you guys think? Do you even know them? 😛

Wow, people actually know of them! 😕 😛

Hmmm, didn't know he was Bob Dylan's son... cool.

The Wallflowers were my very very very first foray into rock music. I know they're not rock, but they got me into the whole "guitar and drums" thing. The first few songs off of their album were great, but the rest....well, they sounded like country music. And to me, country music = SUCK.

I found them one of the most soulless marketing creations in years. I can practically see the record-label weasels drooling: handsome lead singer, Bob Dylan's genes, bland, inoffensive tunes = guaranteed record sales. I frankly find N'Sync or the Spice Girls more admirable - at least they know and acknowledge that they are simply musical marketing ploys.

I thought they were good when i listened to 1 Headlight. Turned out, they suck and that's their only song i ever liked

I feel the same way about the gin blossoms. I really did like the music they put out, but I'm not gonna delude myself into thinking that they woulda been the next big thing in rock. They were very catchy and it's sad with the death and all of the writer, but it really was mostly due to the fact that their particular style of rock was in style at the time.
