The Wall

So was it just me or was The Wall awesome? The music and the film fit together extremely well and the imagery managed to tell a pretty sad and intricate tale with very little, almost no dialoge.

The music and the film fit together extremely well...

Wow, there's a concept! Something we don't hear much of after the '80s.

Haha sick. Maybe it was just me, but that blood looked pretty damn real.

Yeah this movie is old, but not everyone was quite old enough in the 80s to experience it. I just found it to be unlikely any recent movie in that it took a wild concept and did it well. It wasn't safe and meant for the masses like all the crap in theatres today, it filled a niche and it filled it well.

the amazing thing is consider what band today could get away with making their own feature film set to music. I dare say no one could pull it off. The amount of effort put into The Wall was enormous....look at all the actors and extras in the movie....the animations and effects....the score.

If you've got it on DVD, I'd really recommend you watch the Alan Parker commentary and the Roger Waters commentary.

That whole crew should have done The Final Cut also, but I guess we're all well past that point now.

Pink Floyd is The Wall and The Wall is Roger Waters and Pink Floyd without Roger Waters is not something I've partcularly cared for. I'm sure it's not all as simple as that.

Run the movie with the sound down and then play the Wizard of Oz soundtrack 😉

Yeah, did you notice how freaky it was when Glinda said "Are you a good witch, or a bad witch?".
