If they are going to start reloading.

Should start gathering primers lots and lots of primers.
Also get at least 1 357 mag revolver for each person. Or a 44 mag or 45 long colt. A bullet mould and wheel weights for each. If powder cannot be found make black powder. The hardest thing that I can see to reproduce is the primers.

A matching lever action would not be a waste either.

.

They would have been better off raiding something like a Cabela's... all of the reloading supplies would already be there 🙂

so no one would have thought to hit Cabelas (or any other gun/outoor/sporting goods store) in the what, 2 years, since the apocalypse started?

hell, those stores get sold out when someone threatens guns by themselves, you don't think the zombie apocalypse would cause this issue?

It would be crazy if they took out Michonne, just out of the blue. Anyone who loves Rick, haha.

Basic black powder shouldn't be that much of a challenge but I don't know how that compares to the smokeless powder used now. The primer could definitely be a challenge. Even if you go back to mercury fulminate you still need to find mercury and nitric acid. You can probably make the latter but finding mercury would definitely be difficult.

And even if you can synthesize the primer, that shit is seriously dangerous to work with.

Easy to find mercury in mechanical thermostats in not to old houses and anything else with a mechanical motion switch (car alarms, etc).

Black powder is easy to make, but is really ill suited for modern firearms. Its a very poor propellant. Would have to go back to the large case slow and heavy stuff. .38 spl, .45 colt, etc. Don't have the volume and correct pressure curve for modern smokeless powder cartridges design around the pressure, speed, and efficiency of smokeless powder. It's not that much more difficult to produce nitrocellulose.

Oh, I'm sure that the guns and ammo would have disappeared from that place a long time ago. There might be some reloading presses left over, though.

Damn Carol!
Ok everyone is stupid again. Darryl going off by himself, michonne, glen and rosita following him, rick and morgan going off after carol and then leaving the car with barely any weapons while the saviors are out there.

It's not the going off on one's own... it's the, we know there is a large, armed, organized group of killers out there that have it out for us, but we'll still travel by road, walk across the middle of open fields, walk on train tracks, have conversations in the middle of open areas, let our guard down constantly.

And if the spoilers I've read here are accurate, know exactly what's happening next episode.

Exactly. Makes no sense!

Carol is just awesome

Yeah, but we're going to see if they take care things right off the Lucille

At this point you sort of expect Rick's group to be like spec ops/ninja/guerillas. Instead, they bumble around like it's season 1. Carol at least was prepared. And obviously the Saviors have learned a few tactical tricks. But god forbid that Rick's group should ever learn anything except by fucking the same things up over and over.

It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't trying to portray them as bad ass fighters but in one episode they kick ass and in the next they bend over and don't even ask for lube.

This isn't a show where you should have to have the same low standards as you do for most tv, but I guess when you're already number one, it's not really worth the effort.

P.S. What did Carol have stuffed up her sleeve?

Even a Glock 18 would be on the bigger side.
Talking dead said it was a gun but no idea what kind. They said that was what she was sewing into her coat in the beginning. Not too many full auto pistols so a limited selection.

Uh..did they just kill Daryl? Or is it just a fake out?

I'm pretty sure he's fine because right after shooting him, the guy says "you'll be fine," he's way too popular, and the gun was aiming around the shoulder.

That was a sloppy as shit rescue though.

Can't believe those idiots have made it this long with the non-stop stream of stupid moves they make. Writers are just lazy - they could make the characters smart and capable without having them be complete fools over and over again to move a plot along.

I know it's a Hollywood gun, as anything that could fire that many shots would be a bulge in her sleeve. Still, like last week's crossbow that kicks like a mule, I hate it when they don't even try.

I gather that the point of all this is Rick and crew think they're the big boys on the block. They're overconfident and are making massive mistakes. I'm sure it's all a set up for when Negan shows up and they're suddenly on the losing side. They probably already said something of the like on the Talking Dead as I don't watch it, but I'm just basing it on how many times Rick keeps telling people they're the only power in the world.

It might be because of how hard they try to stick to the comic... Cartoon drawings story with speech bubbles with cartoon characters might get into less logical situations and receive more leeway than live-action stuff.

Yeah, wait til next week and Coral gets bashed - that take care of Rick's arrogance.
