Didn't see that coming, even looked away for a minute to read.

I expected something to go wrong. I mean... you live in a zombie apocalypse where flesh-eating undead want to eat you and insane living want what you have. So, in that case, WHY WOULD YOU STAND THERE YELLING!? o_O

Haha, yeah. I was like you morons! Why are you standing there yelling about killing Saviors? They could be any where. Knew something bad was going to happen.

This kind of stuff is why is just fast forward thru the episodes. It's beyond stupid.

Another very slow episode. The arrow thing was pretty cool though, how she kept talking for a bit. Seems plausible to me, the brain hasn't had a chance to process exactly what has happened.

You knew at some point something bad would happen with those three when they were out scavenging, but I thought it was going to be because of zombies, not because of another group. How would that group of (presumably) Negan's men know where to find those three so they could attack them? So they captured Eugene -- but he doesn't know where Darryl & co went. Just a happy coincidence that they came upon them and decided to attack?

The idea of making bullets sounds great, but beyond metal and a metal workshop, the key things you'd need would be primer, powder and fluxing material. Finding metal and used brass shouldn't be that difficult. The other thing you'd have to know is exactly how much powder to use, along with the exact dimensions of the bullets. Certainly not easy, unless you have experience doing it.

They are setting us up for the negan group meeting/showdown.

I think it was coincidence because Dwight seemed surprised to see Daryl.

As for making ammo, there are tons of books out there (usually get updated once a year) that tell you in depth how to reload ammo. They're called reloading manuals.

If they are going to start reloading.

Should start gathering primers lots and lots of primers.
Also get at least 1 357 mag revolver for each person. Or a 44 mag or 45 long colt. A bullet mould and wheel weights for each. If powder cannot be found make black powder. The hardest thing that I can see to reproduce is the primers.

A matching lever action would not be a waste either.

That was dumb.

Arrow goes thru head....you lose vision...extreme instant pain....yet you're still focused on completing your sentence.

LOL.

Bullshit. :colbert:

Some people just have to finish their rant when they're firmly on their soapbox.

Yeah, I noticed he seemed surprised as well. I could be wrong, maybe we'll find out they had been watching them or something, but that seems extremely unlikely to just kind of randomly come upon them.

Yeah, it's not like it's super secret knowledge or anything, but it's not like you have full access to amazon or your local barnes and noble store to peruse the "ammo reloading" section ;) I'm sure they could scavenge some information / books somewhere, but I suspect primer and powder would be a real challenge.

The fact that the arrow didn't totally put her lights out raises the possibility of her coming back as a zombie with an arrow in the eye.

Cool.

Basic black powder shouldn't be that much of a challenge but I don't know how that compares to the smokeless powder used now. The primer could definitely be a challenge. Even if you go back to mercury fulminate you still need to find mercury and nitric acid. You can probably make the latter but finding mercury would definitely be difficult.

And even if you can synthesize the primer, that shit is seriously dangerous to work with.

He was with insulin girl, the group that Daryl saved. iirc they were escaping Negan's group, trying to remove themselves from the gang. Daryl offered them asylum in Alexandria, and instead they stole his bike & crossbow.
Ah okay it was them. At first I thought them because of the crossbow, but then I didn't remember him.

So I guess it that crew at the tracks wasn't Negan's group, if it was the same guy they were after before.

I had a feeling they were going to kill her off, but I did not expect that at all. Quite effective.

Also, I really don't like Eugene, but I'm glad to see them actually do something with him. Not sure how he's never been killed off because he's always just 'there' not doing anything.

I'm sure they'll Walter White some when they need it. After all, the Confederacy made their bullets from wood and bat guano during the Civil War and it seems that Eugene's will be a cut above those at least.

That was just plain black powder though. All you need is potassium nitrate (I think), sulfur and charcoal. I don't know for sure but I don't think that has the same kick as the stuff they use now. It should be effective for close range combat though so there's that.

I'm sure they can come up with something for the primer but it will be interesting to see what they use. Hopefully they won't gloss over that bit. My guess is that they'll conveniently run across an ammo manufacturer and use whatever they find. I don't see their making their own powder and primer.

You guys are way over-nerding that scene.

God, was I happy when that character took the arrow to the face. That kind of world has no room for her drama, seriously...

Bullet farmers! :D

I'd expect they know of and possibly where Alexandria (roughly?) is by now. It's a named place on existing maps, although they might not know the name.
I'm pretty sure they said it was an unfinished subdivision, which makes it unlikely to exist on maps. It's not like finding the city means finding the subdivision.

Agreed. I was expecting a bite from a toddler zombie or something like that.

Yeah, I liked that plot turn. It turns out his useless knowledge probably isn't completely useless.

P.S. I liked helmet-head zombie. That's a new one. :D

They've had some helmet-headed zombies. But that one looked like it was just solid metal that was liquid and then hardened on the head, like he fell in or had it poured on him.
