Wha??? Morgan didn't show up for that last scene.

Did you turn your TV off or something? Rick caps the Doctor, looks up, and Morgan is there staring at him in shock.

And that wasn't even the final final scene, the last scene was Michonne taking responsibility back for her sword

I think some of it could've been listening to everyone, but I think mainly it was her being distraught at her husband's death.

Episode needed about 1000% moar Maggie.

I dunno, because she's not a knee-jerk person at all. But stuff started piling up all of a sudden:

1. She was asked why she didn't record the Preacher. Obviously because anyone can watch the videos & she was told what she was told in confidence, but that was a good point.

2. Rick shows up with a dead walker.

3. The son admits he didn't shut the door, that he left it to the Preacher; it suddenly clicks in Deanna's mind that maybe the Preacher IS a crackpot & that she was wrong in her judgement.

4. The Doctor shows up with a sword - great, another confrontation.

She was pretty calm with her son's death, but now with her husband killed, I think she put 2 & 2 together and make a quick decision to solve the problem permanently rather than just evict him. It was the perfect way to illustrate why Rick's way of doing things IS the way of doing things.

Also, did Maggie look IRL sick to anyone else? Something was off about her...

The guy who plays Morgan said that they'll explain the backstory about what changed him, sounds like it's going to be good! He didn't confirm that he would be a recurring character or not, just that he would be in at least one more episode, although when they interviewed Rick, he seemed pretty excited about Morgan & the upcoming season.

Darryl's chain whip was friggin epic! Was not expecting that. There was several times this episode that got me excited for the show. Really good finale imo.

Yeah for sure...Morgan was bananas last time they met, and now Rick is essentially Shane.

Yeah, years ago at this point. Interesting how everyone's changed, but I don't agree Rick is Shane at all.

Rick is willing to kill, but for (sometimes questionable) moral reasons. You may not agree with the reason, but you can likely understand his point of view. That was kind of the point of the episode, yeah he went overboard at the end of the last episode, but with good intent. He realized he went too far, right reason, just too extreme.

Shane was willing to kill for lesser reasons, approaching "if he felt like it".

Like Rick, she realized it's important to be a bad ass, just reign it in. She needs the sword the be the badass, she just can't be psychotic about it like she was when she had the walkers on chains.

I think they should have ended it when Rick shoots the doctor after Deanna says "Do it". I thought that was a great end shot looking up at Rick with a gun pointed at you.

That would have been a great ending for sure, but chronologically it wouldn't have allowed for the Michonne scene which I think was important.

+1 I agree with Rick's way of doing this, not Shane's. Although if someone can prove Shane's way is better I'll certainly be interested.

There was a theory going around last week that the dismembered corpse Daryl and Aaron came across was Morgan. I actually thought it too when I saw the guy was black and he had sunglasses similar to what I remember Morgan was wearing the last time he was on the show. Anyways, when the episode opened with Morgan at a camp site I thought..."mother ******! They're going to kill him off!" So relieved they didn't do it, but it definitely made the opening scene super intense. Reminded me of a Sergio Leone movie or something.

See, here's where things got interesting for me. Did he actually shoot Pete, or did he shoot Deanna's husband Reg before he turned ? I initially thought he shot Pete, but someone had to deal with Reg who clearly was suffering.

That is a good point. We don't know exactly who Rick shot. It seems logical, Deanna would approve of Rick killing Pete, but Rick also understands they have to deal with people who die and turn.

Michonne
Red Poncho guy
WOLVES NOT FAR

all after the talking dead next outro

Yeah, I almost missed all of that because I swear I saw credits come up, but then there is Michonne and the poncho man.

Carol was awesome this episode too. For a 90 minute episode it felt pretty jam packed; not a lot of useless filler which I feel these finales sometimes have.

KT

Yes michonne and red poncho guy after credits. I hate that they do that because i usually stop watching shows when the credits roll.
