Lots of things confused me about that episode:

1. How did the RV get separated from the car in such a manner they didn't notice until they hit zombies and how did it get to the flare so quickly if it was behind the car?
It didn't. He specifically said that he had to force his way through because slamming the brakes would cause the RV to rear-end him. The flare was from Eric, not the RV.

2. Why did the guy want to refuse to eat the applesauce when he knew it would show good faith? It wasn't like he was allergic. (I realize it was probably just done that way for dramatic effect, but still..made no sense)
They were trying to imply serious emotional baggage due to his father trying to make him less gay (his comment about feeding him that to make him "more manly"). I already knew from reading the comics so it made more sense, but it was still stupid.

3. It 'looked' like when the flare went off Michonne was trying to get in the car and got flung away from the car quite a distance when he jumped out, but then it wasn't.

4. What broke the guys ankle? He mentioned something about it getting run over, and I assumed it was by the RV, but then the guy says Ricks group saved him.
He said he was hiding under a rust bucket from zombies when they rolled it over his leg. The others saw his flare and saved him.

I chalk much of that up to bad editing...

Also, whatever this is, you know it will end badly...happy endings are not what this show is about.

Also, I realize this is fiction, but don't you think zombies would have an ultimate shelf life before the flesh rotted enough (in the open) that all that is left is bones? I would think 4+ years would be plenty for most of them to have lost enough muscle/tendon that they 'die' off.
It's been less than two years in the show's timeline despite Judith and Carl aging so much.

PS- was anybody else pissed when that zombie almosssssttt got Glen. I was like omgomgomgomg get himmmm... DAMNIT NOOOOOOOO!

Haha, totally. I was so excited, then so disappointed. 😀

This was definitely my favourite episode of the season so far. Interesting character stuff, some fun action; overall quite solid.

OK that makes more sense. I heard "they're not back there" which led me to believe up until he was hitting zombies they didn't notice the RV was gone. I realized Eric shot the flare, but the RV never passed the car. It was assumed it turned around or was on another road, thus why it didn't make sense they had made it to Eric before Rick. Of course they were on foot, so that could have explained it, just was another case of what seemed like bad editing.

About the timeline, I didn't mean this show specifically, although I did think it had been over 2 years by now. I was thinking more in general for a long term solution.

Glen has been pulling a Wolverine lately. Hugh Jackman was great in the X-men movies, but both of the Wolverine movies were pretty dumb. It was like an hour of Wolverine not being awesome at the start of the movie. Lately Glen has been being dumb. He was one of my favorite characters when he started out - calling Rick in the tank, driving the sports car into camp with the alarm blaring, etc., but now I think his cue card just says "mope around" :awe:

He's been kind of the only male "voice of reason" to Rick, which is the only reason I see his character having any value at this point.

Just sad he didn't get munched up.

Was the gun Rick was hiding with the "J" on it for stashing purposes or something else?

Think it was just a safety precaution, but not sure if it was just showing him still being cautious or if it was foreshadowing a coming fight so you wouldn't be all like "where'd that gun come from?"

I hope not, they really need a different angle. They were overrun by zombies at the farm, they were overrun by people at the prison, they were enslaved & eaten by people at Terminus, etc. etc. We don't need another re-run of the same story. That's what got me about 5 seasons of "Prison Break"...in the second season they just got thrown back into prison! I'm not watching four more seasons of that 😀

I'm kind of hoping this will be safe haven for them. But they're going to need something else to make it interesting. They mentioned the fortress was really strong against zombies (and people), but I think they still are having a gang-related problem with the Wolves.

This would also be a good segway into putting Eugene back into action. They could have offed him awhile ago - turned him into a zombie after Abraham's mega-punch, left him at the hospital, had him die along the way, etc. - but they made a point of having Abraham see the Washington monument, so I think Eugene still has some usefulness left & Abraham is going to help get him there. And they need a place to recover & get their mental health back in order. They did a good job of conveying how exhausted everyone was last episode, even Michonne.

I am also to the point of wanting more answers about the plague now. They don't even address the zombies anymore...they threw in the herd-crash this past episode & a quick one to kill off Tyrese, but it's about survival, other humans, etc., and since we've already gone the zombies vs. group & other group vs. group routes, I think they need to start figuring out a timeline of what happened, why it happened, how much of the world it is affecting (it appears to be 100% of it worldwide), and what they can do to fix it. Alexandria can offer them safe haven near DC, which according to Eugene has failsafes & weapons and stuff.

My fear is that they'll turn this into another "Lost" - write an excellent 3-season story, but then get extended for another 3 seasons, and end up with crap episodes & a garbage ending. So far this season has been pretty slow, so I'd like to see them get more focused on Rick again & really start moving the plot along.

My think is that regardless of the cause, they're also going to need to figure out how to cure the plague so they that they don't have to keep on being vigilant & living on edge for the rest of their lives, so #1, they're going to need to develop a cure, and #2, they're going to need to distribute it worldwide. Eugene had mentioned there were global aerosol distribution systems for managing mass chemical attacks & whatnot, so maybe that really exists in DC somewhere. That would be a really good storyline to pursue, especially since they have to fight through zombies & other groups to get to it.

I'm convinced that the people that made Prison Break didn't expect it to go past one season. That's why it kept getting stupider and stupider.

As for the Walking Dead.. I really don't think this show will have an ending that'll make you happy. It's a bit much to go from the hyper-gritty realism the show wants to pretend (while having zombies walking around) it is to suddenly a happy ending where they save the world. I'm convinced this show is about humanity's last gasp. That's why they're just surviving and not really going anywhere. The downside is they've put themselves in a spot where the seams are already showing on how many stories they can do without retreading it over and over again. My guess is this show will continue to keep running itself in to circles and people will pretend to get love it because they keep getting told how awesome it is.. much like Mad Men.

Why in the fuck does every show have to have gay guys kissing. Not everyone wants that agenda pushed on them. Way to ruin the episode AMC.

People used to say the same thing about interracial relationships.

....also, there were two gay characters in the comics. This show is based off of the comics.

gay agenda on TV started with real world season 1, 1992.

I was just laughing at the ignorance. It doesn't have to be "gay agenda", it can simply be a case of "it is what it is."
Since it has now been revealed, it's not a comic spoiler: that character is gay in the comic too (according to the comic wiki). It wasn't an agenda thing, it was simply acknowledging life and making a realistic situation. At some point in this zombie world, our main characters would run across a gay couple.

It's no longer an agenda or equal rights thing, it is simply what we find in life, so it's portrayed as normal in the story.

It SHOULD be only as offensive as seeing a hetero couple kiss on screen. To be annoyed and offended by a simple act on camera is flat out ridiculous.

And frankly, the kiss seemed a plausible event at that very point in time. He was worried and hadn't seen him for some time, so to see him after worrying, a couple of any type would embrace at that point.

I think the "gay agenda" he's referring to is specifically meant to bemoan that it is portrayed far more often in television, comics, movies, etc than it is in real life. Almost every series has one or more token gay characters. The Walking Dead has already had a token lesbian and they've toyed with making Daryl gay for no other reason than that he has so far been non-sexual, which is offensive to a non-sexual like me. All my life I've been running into idiots who think that if you're not sticking your penis into a vagina on a regular basis then you must be taking it up the butt or sticking it in someone else's butt. 🙄

The thing that really gets me is that these kind of writers think they are clever. I remember in the Star Trek Voyager novel "Pathways" where almost every character introduced was gay or bisexual. One was even a race of aliens where all individuals were both sexes. Starfleet bent backwards with official dual-gender terminology just for their race. No, this was not fanfic. It was written by one of the series' creators (some woman who's name I can't recall ATM). It was even worse than the series.

Depends on where you live. I have even met several transgendered people at work, and meeting homosexuals is fairly normal. I didn't even think anything of it in Sunday's episode, until Rick did that long stare. I started to wonder if he was going to go into an anti-gay rant or something. "First zombies, now the gays! This really is the end of the world."

...so you are asexual?

I thought they were toying with Daryl and Carol, and in a few years if she lived, Beth. I think its more of an issue of available women on the show. For Daryl, its either too young or too old. And lets face it, if Daryl was on his own he would be one of those Deliverance people.

lol at gay agenda...
I don't see a need for a gay agenda these days. if anything its more to appease the gay community.

This region has been called "the gay capital of the South" many times. Almost everywhere I have worked I have worked with gay people. It still doesn't come close to the ratio you see on TV and in other fictional media. I also lived in San Diego which, while not quite San Francisco, was pretty dense with gay people. Come to think of it, I've had gay bosses and/or coworkers everywhere I've ever worked. Once again: it doesn't come close to fictional media density, where they think it's a cheap way to add drama.
