The USPS is the most consistent shipper out there!

I have had 7 or 8 packages shipped to my house via USPS in the past few months. None of them have made it to my door. Every time its a different excuse and every time getting a straight answer is impossible. I really think that even the people working there have no idea what's going on.

The latest package is currently 3 days past the "guaranteed delivery" date. I can't wait until they go out of business so cheap bastards will stop using them to ship.

I'm not too happy with them myself of late. We're having our mail forwarded on a temporary basis for 90 days and redirected delivery has run from as short as 4 days (seems very reasonable) to as long as 21 days which I think is entirely unreasonable. Right now, we are waiting for a check that was mailed on the 24th of February that has not been delivered and has not been returned to the sender. The check has not fallen into the hands of bad guys as it has not been cashed.

We asked to have redirection stopped on the 24th of this month thinking that we would not have to worry about mail being delivered here between then and our arrival back home on the 2nd of April. I fully expect mail will be delivered here that is out there floating around somewhere, all during the month of April. There will be nobody here to inform us of any deliveries after we leave on the 31st.

Maybe your mailman just sucks. I haven't had issues with them in quite a while. In fact, I had more problems with the single FedEx package I got recently than all the USPS stuff.

When I called, the usps blamed it on my mailman so I went to my local office. They wrote my name on a post it note and promised it would be all set.

Sure is! This time my package didn't even make it to this side of the state!!!

Haha some mailman has your post it note in his truck and just drives by your house everyday laughing as your packages pile up in the back.

I'm gonna go with this one...or at least a problem at the local office level. Nationally, their tracking has improved immensely in the past couple of years. Their prices, even after some of the recent increases, are still quite a bit cheaper than UPS/FedEx for the "average" things people ship. And priority now has free tracking too.

The only late packages I've had recently have been from UPS ... USPS has been on time or even early. I've only had one FedEx package delivered and that was an overnight thing that made it fine.

I don't like them, but bang for buck they are the best carrier.

Still prefer FedEx, but their prices are getting out of hand.

I never understood all of the hate towards USPS. I was once an eBay power seller and I've sent and received thousands of packages. And TBH, I have found them to be pretty damn reliable and convenient.

I think the problem in alot of these cases has more to do with the shipper/seller than USPS.

One thing that I remind people who buy on ebay is that when your item has been marked as "shipped"; it doesn't mean that your item is on it's way. What it means is that the seller printed a shipping label and the item could still be sitting somehwere waiting to be packed and shipped at a later time.

I once bitched to seller for slow shipping. It took over a week to deliver something from Ohio (one state away from me) via priority mail. I've had stuff sent to me from California via parcel post arrive within less time than this. The seller tried to tell me that he sent the item out on the same day that I had made the purchase and that the date on the shipping label was proof of that. I called him out on his BS and pointed out that the tracking info indicated that the item hadn't "Arrived at Unit" (which means taken to the Post Office) until 6 days after my purchase.

I left negative feedback.

I seem to have two postmen. One delivers packages, knows where I live and, is very courteous. The second delivers mail. Sometimes packages get loaded on the seconds truck either because they're small or the package guy is off. The second postman, to the best of my knowledge, never leaves her truck and automatically fills out "tried to deliver " notes which are deposited in my street mailbox nowhere close to where I actually live. Once the second "letter only " postman gets hold of it, I'm never getting my package unless I go to the post office.
