So, taxes are too high on corporations, Yet the top ten corps paid a Negative amount in taxes this year. Funny how that works.

Your statement isn't complete about the tax rate being negative, but...

The reason has nothing to do with the tax rate. It has to do with the companies playing a shell game, where they divide up into a US entity that loses money (hence no tax) and an overseas entity that makes money (any tax on this is indefinitely deferred - they only get taxed on the profit they bring back to the US).

Many liberals would like to tax overseas profit; main problem there is that the country they make money in taxes them too.

Raising taxes will not change this, other than to encourage it.

So now if you understand the above - understand this: Dem and Repub politicians already know this. Neither have any intention of doing anything that will actually stop it.

Remarkably, some favs here like Apple and Microsoft have been doing this for years.

And some companies that everyone hates, like Exxon, pay major taxes - 47% for Exxon.

Raising rates is a red herring for the stupid masses; they need to fix the loopholes.

Yeah but we all know they won't do that. Even if they did they would leave the ones open that their buddies use. We all know this, yet here you are pretending like the rest of the country is stupid. And the spotlight is shining on you.

Kind of funny that outside the USA, this vote is 90% yes to raising taxes. Know why?? Yep, because our rates are incredibly stupidly low and our debt is a threat to the world.

We have the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world. How is that working for us? Jobs have moved overseas. Lower the corporate rate to 18-20% and everyone will have a job and personal income tax revenues will go through the roof. Lower the highest personal income tax bracket from 35% to 32% and small businesses will be able to thrive and expand.

Our REAL corporate taxes are the lowest in the world. 1/3 of the fortune 500 pay nothing in taxes. Good job repeating debunked talking points though!

It seems to be an epidemic in this forum.

We want smaller government, more liberty, and personal accountability. Yet our friends' corporations get huge tax breaks, we created the Patriot Act, and spend money like a rapper at a strip club.

Yay, Republicans!
