the usa is a rebellious child

it is like a way ward child that has lost its way because it is immiture and need the guidence of a strong hand from a wise old countries like in europe or asia

my 2 pence

And Europe is nothing more than an old man, unable to change to the times. While a child will grow up and mature, the old will only wither and die.

....See, I can troll too!

If you're going to troll, please try to spell things correctly, nothing waste a good troll like not being able to spell.

Keep you pence, you're going to need them.

I really need to learn about WWII so I can argue with this... I'm sure there's some argument to be made (no I won't take your word for it that there isn't)

The standard self-hating American response is to say that Russia saved Europe and that Britain and America did nothing meaningful. You should then post causality figures to back up your claim that Russia saved Europe.

But casualty numbers can be deceiving and the truth is much more complex.

Think of WW2 as Starcraft, Britain, America, Australia, Canada, etc. were the Terrains (nice balance of numbers and technology), Germany was the Protoss (advanced technology, few numbers) and the Soviets were The Zerg (some did not even have guns).

So you think Britain cold have re-taken mainland Europe by itself? Without any US assistance? Lol.

Germany was also kicking Stalin's ass right up until Hitler decided the resources in the Caucuses were more important than taking Moscow. The Russians only held onto Stalingrad because the majority of the German forces had been diverted. Had there been no 2nd land front, Germany would have probably recovered from their mistake in enough time to continue slaughtering Russians.

Germany lost because Hitler was a fool. Had the Generals been given more control, the cold war probably would have started in the 40s with the Nazis.

In any case, note the US forces making up close to half the total allied forces. Also, The Supreme Allied Commander was Dwight D. Eisenhower, an American. The Deputy Supreme Allied Commander was British.

I never thought of it that way. :hmm:

OP, how did you come to this conclusion? Is it because Europe and Asia have been around awhile? Just so you know, millions of displaced people from all around the world flooded America, and America became the greatest country on earth, taking a small part from each person that succeeded here.

How does Europe compare? How, even, does Asia compare?

Lets not forget we also have one of the oldest standing governments.

You're too kind. I was thinking more like a crack addicted teen who had no guidance from parents. Don't worry tho, every dog has is day. May take 10-20 years but other more prudent and industrious nations will leave us in the dust like a crack addict at 40 redlining in the hospital.. Money will be worthless. USA skills and education will be without wherewithal to compete and we will collapse.

This is so utterly absurd, that someone would try to learn about something just so that they can be contrary, even though truly learning about the subject might destroy any argument they might want to hold. You might as well just pull stuff out of your rump if you are learning about something to argue a conclusion that you somehow already have despite the lack of knowledge.

WWII era British authors are some of the most popular in the US, among old literature that is...

Why?

Brits got burned to the ground and their citizens don't know the history, that's kind of sad.You think it'd be part of their social studies...

Hal is more patriotic than the most idiotic American redneck. Only more passive aggressive about it.
