good day dear experts, good day dear tech-community :)

currently i am tryin to update a TomTom navigation device,

i need to get new maps n data.

the tomtom-navi-device is about 10 years old now:

well - i have heard that for the older devices, we have to connect the navigation device to the computer and launch TomTom HOME,
i think that i can connect the navigation device via usb - to the notebook

Did you ever do such updates - what was your experience !?

There are at least two bits of tomtom software and you have to make sure you have the right tomtom software for your particular device.

I'd probably start by going to the 'my tomtom' website, create an account, feed it your model/serial number, then it tells you which software to download, install software, connect via USB, it should do the rest for you.

I've updated a Garmin and a Magellan "stand-alone" GPS unit and both involved registering on the individual websites.

Never done a Tom-Tom but my guess is the process is similar.
