The upcoming CM WaveMasterII

Hmmm looks ok.

But I miss their minimalistic designs of old... like the ATC-xxx. I always wondered why they got rid of them. 😕

It does look more cluttered doesn't it -- so far, the few improvements that I can spot are:

The front door swings all the way to the side of the case

Improved airflow through the use of bigger fans and less resistance to air intake

Totally agree. I loved the ATC series but the new ones don't do much for me.

i love the stacker design, simple and effective, its a shame that the wavemaster2 doesnt have a 12cm fan at the back, they are the "coolingmasters" 😉

Yes, instead, they only incorporate one 12cm fan at the front for the intake, and use two 8cm fans for exhaust.

I would've preferred one 12cm intake fan and another 12cm exhaust fan.

I would have liked 12cm intakes and exhausts too. I don't think people want 6 8cm fans in their case anymore - they want to be able to sleep with the computer in their room 😉. On the terms of pure asthetics - it looks alright. It's all about getting the case to sell - some people like that look.

i like it a lot

release date?

i contacted CM and no response yet. i wanted to purchase a Lian Li v1000 but i think i will hold off to get this. i love the flexibilty

EDIT: sorry, i was referring to the stacker II

Yeah, the original Wavemaster has a more elegant integrated look compared to the second version, but then it's only my personal opinion.

the wavemaster is nice but i tried using it and it wasnt roomy enough for me. i have an X-connect PSU and i really had to shove the cables in to get it to fit

Unfortunately, this is true, so probably in your case (no pun intended) you are better off with something like the CM Stacker.

What they should do is just update the original. Not change the looks (well maybe that little piece above the door on the front of the case, make that flush with the top of the case, but hey, no big deal even then). The new one looks like Thermaltake designed it.

Also, dual 80mm? C'mon you've got to have a 120 nowadays.

Whats with the door swinging open so wide? Should've just come up with a way for it to slide around the side (like on Dell's XPS desktop case).

Overall
