The unveiling of my Fokker.

My first attempt at a project like this. 24" wingspan, mostly oak with a little cherry and mahogany. Finished with tung oil. Hand made everything but the wheels, dowels and buttons.

I like the finish you get with Tung oil, lets you keep more of the character of the wood. As for bad painting skills, why not cut out a template using the stickers as a guide and use that to help you paint? I always stink at painting myself. I am liable these days to just put together the model and leave it unpainted.

Good idea. The lazy factor may set in though and it'll go on the shelf like it is.
