You didn't answer my question. What speed is your ram at. You have to get with the program. Default speed is 1066FSB/533Mem speed 1:1. Right? What ratio are you running at. I'll give you a hint. Cpuz may know. Then report back. Geezzz lol

cpuz

I posted a link on page 92 to a lot of benchmarking programs and utilities

cpu says that i'm running my ram at 400MHz so that is 800MHz dual channel right?? also i uped my fsb again to 1400 and now my cpu is at 2450MHz and very stable!!!!

my max CPU temp so far is 31C, MB temp is inbetween 27-28C. so to adjust my ram speed i go to bios and up from 800 to a higher #?? in increments of ???

Good job! I think your getting the hang of it. Don't forget to update your info in your sig. Monitor your temps and volts in speedfan and don't ask me where to get that. You should be able to hit 1600/800 easily and that should give you 2800MHz on that E6300 and good performance.

After 1600/800 you can try upping your ram by 25 825, 850, 875, 900, till a 1000 if you want or you can keep the FSB and the ram 1:1 and overclock both. 1650/825 1700/850 and so on. the latter is going to need close attention to voltages, temps, stability and knowledge of what to adjust. I would set my goal at 1600/800 for now.

Speedfan CPU temp, MB Temp, Core Temps, HD Temps and vcore voltages

Well it looks like I am going to flash to the latest BIOS. I can't remember getting the latest chipset drivers so I will install those too. Should I do it after or before I flash? Or does is not matter?

Before

And this was answered somewhere in the thread but I can't find it. What's the best (or only) way to clear the CMOS on this board?

OK acivick, I think were ready. If you can link Page 92 on the front that would be great. Call it P5N-E SLI a Guide for Tips, Tricks and Basic Overclocking or something like that. Come up with a catchy phrase.

Thanks, Core2

Done. Let me know if you guys want to add anything else, e.g. other pages, external links, etc. Probably should PM me, since things have a way of getting lost in this thread.

Roger that. If there is anything you feel that should be linked, feel free to do so. How are you making out with the E6600 any progress report? I would like to spend some time trying to figure out what is needed to get those to clocked easier. I wish I had one to play with.
Thanks again

I've settled on 3.0 GHz, 1500/1000. I don't think my CPU likes going much faster than that. My memory is stable at the settings in my sig, which is only a little more loose than I had it when I was running 800 stable. I think I'll try lowering the mem frequency again after the next BIOS to try and get better timings.

Its in the manual. After you flash shut down pull the plug ground yourself and pop the CMOS battery out and jump the # 2 and 3 pin on the CMOS header for 20 - 30 sec Replace the jumper to it normal 1 and 2 pin position and put the battery back in. Restart Boot into the bios and reset all your setting. Look at page 92 for what should be disabled or enabled

Looks good. With that extra cache it must fly. Nice voltage on the ram and NB. I don't think there is any advantage to run 1000MHz with loose timings and 800MHz with tighter ones. No 1T??

Yeah they do. The 6600's are amazing chips if you can get your hands on one. Acivick, does your 6600 really need 1.5v to make it to 3.0ghz? I personally had mine all the way to 3.15 with 1.35 set in the bios with the stock cooler attached. You might try to up the NB voltage to the next step up and lower the vcore and try to go up from there. I got to about 3.3 and had to raise the NB voltage, cause adding vcore wasn't doing me any good. I wouldn't settle on 3.0ghz if you're disappointed, most likely it has another 2-300mhz left I would think. What cpu cooler are you using?

just upped the FSB to 1600, running at 2800MHz now. i ran orthos for 2.5hrs at 1400FSB and no problems!!!! running orthos right now at current settings.. will let you know the out come..

Now you're getting the hang of it. Just keep bumping the fsb in small increments till you run into some errors, then you have to figure out if the cpu needs voltage or the NB or you're temp limited. Good luck.

Hey hey..

Soooo... been testing and tweaking all weekend and im still where i started haha.. kidding..

Im still at 1500 FSB coz i still cant get over 1500 and get a stabil memtest.. i can no problem run 1800fsb with no errors in orthon small but guess theres something else wrong.. but the hell with it hehe.. ill wait on a new bios.. maybe that will fix the problem..

BUT.. have been tweaking my rams aswell..

Got them to 1150Mhz 5-4-4-12 T2 before they started complaining.. but that still gets me a 14000+ in everrest in read only mode.. so im pleased 😀 but dont need that much CPU power to use IE and see movies anyways 😉

Just a little update from my side 😀

Nice job on the ram. I still haven't pushed mine. I should of went with the Dominator's too for another 10 bucks stupid move on my part. Those are hand pick Micron chips. I still can't figure why your getting mem errors at higher FSB but can run at 1150mhz with no errors. Are you into Football Super bowl Sunday here in the US.

Did you try upping the NB to 1.56

Yeah Nb is running at 1.5.. have tryed 1.7 aswell.. same thing..

Its a weird thing with this board.. have heard that i can push these rams to 1250 by upping the volt to 2.3.. do u think the rams will take damage of that?

Football aint that big a deal over here.. we have soccer haha.. i like playing Madden on my 360 tho 😛..

where in the us are u from btw?

I don't think you need that much voltage for 3.0 GHz.. btw 1333 is 3.0 1500 is more like 3.5 GHz. That is unless you changed the multiplier

Soccer is that a sport ha ha ?????. Know of a good games for the 360? I wouldn't push 1250 I don't know if your warranty would cover that if you burn them up. Make sure you put a fan on them if you try.
