It seems plausible that the Universe had a beginning or perhaps a new beginning. Imagine an infinity of regression. Extreme density caused by perhaps a 'black hole' that ate up all the matter in its universe and belched it back in one big Planck time event. We can't see the event because the heat related opaque to radiation condition that seems to exist in this universe's beginning or rebirth... It seems possible.
The caveat is that the geometry of the universe (3 dimension) has to be sort of be closed in order to enable the affects of gravity to overwhelm the effects of what ever is causing continued expansion in this universe and it seems to be flat-ish. But, it could be that this configuration of the universe is different than its predecessors.

As a kid I would look up and wonder what was on the other side of the universe... we knew that Hubble used - I forget her name - calculations to claim an universe and one that was expanding. But into what.....

It is simply beyond my scope of thinking power to imagine Nothing becoming Something... That is an empirically produced possibility I suppose... but it is so much easier to proclaim God did it... But that is also the laziest possible answer human kind can assign to the wonders of the universe....

It is quite easy for me to transit from Left to Right brain thinking and one thing for sure is when one intuitively deduces a truth they seems to also require some analytical approach to prove it to be true.... They bring on, 'the Spirit gives you faith....' or, 'the Bible says...'
