Just watched the 13th episode and man did that bring a tear or two to my eye. Especially the funneral scene where they called out the names of each man in the Unit. That show has some solid acting and at least to me seems realistic. I also like how they can balance both pro and anit-war without have to be preachy.

The last two episodes were spectacular. Well the fact that Hector is gone really sucks but judging the episodes otherwise, they were awesome. Yeah, I don't get why they didn't pick up any of the AKs.

Hector was awesome, but really all the characters are great. I'm glad Grey isn't gone though... he is my favorite. He's scrappy, a badass, a player, and knows all about bombs, electronics, and is a medic too. Of course, every one of them speaks like 10 languages and can do everything.

I hope to see Demore Barnes in something good in the future. His time in this show really showed how talented he is so hopefully it will lead to some good roles for him!

And yeah, the preview for next week was messed up. What in the hell was with that boombastic music? I don't see how that fits into The Unit. But, should be good... most of the eps are great.

edit: As far as the Colonel involved... possible but I don't think so. Yeah it's plausible given that Hector seen him with Tiffy, and it appears so far that he didn't get to tell anyone, but the Colonel certainly couldn't be the sniper. Sure in the season 2 finale he had said he wouldn't give up his men no matter what, and that is true about him, but Hector himself is only one guy, and knew a major secret. Still, I just don't think he was involved.

Just finished watching the last episode. Definitely a worthy send-off to Hector. I can't say that I have a favorite character, since I love all of them, but Hector dying really hit hard. I mean, he was just a genuinely nice guy. A true gentleman. :(

And I also don't think the Colonel killed him. I believe the Colonel would die for any of his men, and it seems like it would just be out of character for him to do such a thing. The bullet in the wooden box near the end was like "whoa."

Man, The Unit's such a good show.

Did you guys miss the look between Colonel Ryan and Tiffy at the airfield when they are carrying the casket?
She might think he's involved.

yep yep to everything u said.

yeah the part where Col Ryan opens the container with all the bullet fragments shocked me too......at first....then i realized the risks of what each special ops must face each & every time they get deployed, then it hit me that Ryan's box would indeed have accrued quite a collection. :(

that *look* that u speak of is 'cause Ryan & Tiffy had hooked up an episode or two ago, so it was like that *love triangle* feeling, not so much that the Col would have wanted one of his guys killed. no way.

I believe the affair goes back to season one. It stopped and is back on.

The only thing I didn't like about this last episode was Blaine going in solo and killing 40 people by himself. Felt too much like the typical cheesy hollywood action scene.

Yeah that was a little over the top. Yeah I know it's TV but come on he kills all 40 people unscathed?

Well, he is special forces, and they were all a ragtag group of untrained kids with guns...looked like half of them didn't even have guns

It's not reality TV, none of it is close to reality, none of the missions ever happened and all of the paid actors have stunt artists performing everything they do.

All the glory and all the praise doesn't exist in real life, in real life you don't get glory when you die, you just get dead, dragged around, boxed up and shipped home.

Two days now.

yeah i know about the Col & Tiffy bumping uglies since Season 1. funny how when Tiffy thinks her marriage is falling apart (which it was), she & Ryan go at it again.

yeah i thought that was *too hollywood* myself, especially when they scouted the area b4hand and showed a glimpse of all The Butcher's bodyguards, there's no way 1 special ops guy like Blaine would have been able to wipe all of 'em out like that.

nah, 2 special ops guys (like Blaine & Brown) would have been more believable.

i don't have a fave character, but ur description of Grey is so right on. he & Hector were pretty much the techies of the group, although Brown can fly planes.:D

i'm just wondering who they're gonna bring on to replace Hector. i guess i'll just have to stayed tuned! :)

If there was ever a tear jerker it was that scene or the entire episode.

Thankfully they didn't concentrate on the women as much, maybe if that show had high ratings they'll get the message? MORE ACTION!!!

Trust me, i don't, actually i couldn't even if i wanted to.

I'm in Kabul and i can't watch anything like that from this computer, it takes ages just to reply and it would take days to get it to download fully and i'd already be home by then. If it comes that highly recommended though, i'll watch it. ;)

total bummer on Hector, right after he gets a woman too. I knew they werent going to knock Grey off, but damn killing Hector surprised me. it made for a good, powerful episode though during sweeps. The Unit is one of my favorite programs, especially lined up with NCIS and Cane.

I really liked Hector, IMO he was a better character than Grey. That UN episode really showed the skills he had, not to mention he's the unit medic.

Their call signs are great. In the first Beirut ep, they were like "Betty..." (without Blue) heh. That and when they call each other Mr. White, Mr. Green, etc.

I read the IMDB The Unit board and there's been a thread going on for a while for Unit quotes. There is hundreds of awesome quotes in this show, but one of my favorites off the top of my head:

(from episode Johnny Be Good where Cool Breeze is pulling up the WMD detectors)
"... call me Peter the Rabbit. I just pulled up two radishes, one more to go"

Here's some more:

"Break? That boy ain't even gonna bend!" (Jonas talking about Mack getting tortured in start of season 3)

"Tiffy Tiffy Tiffy Lou, Love my rifle more than you
Used to be my beauty queen, Now I love my M16"

"Uh dude, this is one of those times I like to be my size"
"Well that's like, your opinion, dude"

(when Hector meets that girl he's dating parents who think he's a clerk still)
Hector: "Logistics requires...."
Father: "...a gentle temperament and a sore ass!"
Hector: "Excuse me sir, I have to report for duty"
Father: "Why, you got some papers that need filing?"

Hector Williams was a great man! Wasn't he the one who caught Tiffy and Colonel Ryan at the motel? Now their secret is safe again?

Well, yes, I'm aware of that, but Tiffy saw Hector at the hotel when Ryan saw him. She knew he saw them and then he showed up dead a couple days later. The 'look' was when they were carrying Hector's body off the plane. She may THINK that Ryan had him killed.
