A bit of a longer read about the impact of RFK Jr's decades-long struggle to bring back human diseases, and in particular, how the system is simply not ready to deal with the long-term consequences (eg, lack of diptheria antitoxin to treat outbreaks; people afflicted with congenital rubella syndrome; etc). After all, for the medical system vaccines are great, so why invest resources for what should be a functionally nonexistent problem? And as great as medicine is today, it can't fix everything and there are still plenty of things that can hurt and kill you.

Means is a grifter and it would be good if her confirmation sank. Regarding her background, besides the grifting part, it's extremely weird to leave a medical residency program with 6 months till completion. Something really had to have gone wrong to leave with so little time left.

The issue continues to be that no country is capable or willing to spend what we were spending on research through the NIH.

Plus, RFK Jr and his ilk have been fucking with the FDA. Hard to plan and justify large scale clinical trials that cost a lot of money if you think the FDA is going to arbitrarily jerk you around and sandbag you at the approval stage.

We're just seeing the end result of the crunchy granola to fash pipeline.

There is a whole Market for them. It's crazy, but had utility at one point.
 
I wonder how many people in this country have cut the genitals off roadkill so they could study them later. It strikes me as something that's unusual... I mean, I guess maybe I do expect it to be more likely for people who have done heroin for years.
