You could probably find large bags that are suitable or just be prepared with some kind of purposely made water storage device. Here's a page that discusses Water Storage.

Thanks. At the end I found this interesting:
"Human beings can only survive without water for three days. Then we shrivel up like raisins and die."

I always thought it was 7 days. I keep thinking about the Yellowstone volcano and I guess that pretty much means people will die withen 3 days to a week. Well, most. Those with a well and stored water will last as long as they have stored food. All the animals will be dead so there's that...

So I'm not sure what you are trying to convey here. What in the actual fuck! does that have to do with the fact ash will kill all life on the planet up to and including animals?

I've never seen the show, but I can tell from that scene that anyone who watches it must be royally fucked in the head or has smoked a wee bit more pot than they should have. But to each his own. I don't admire dramatized horror. I've seen plenty of it first hand in real life.

Interesting. There goes that idea. I seen it on FaceMoron during the hurricanes. So Perhaps just clean out and fill the trash can? LOL

When a hurricane is about to hit we clean the bathtub and fill it up with water. At worst it's great for using to flush toilets and cleaning, at best it is potable water that can be drank. Although I have a ton of water stored for drinking too during hurricane season, old two liter soda bottles or even plastic milk jugs that have been thoroughly cleaned are cheap storage solutions and can be stashed just about anywhere.

You would have had to have watched it. They were killing those people so they could cook and eat them...

I did read about that outbreak. I swear, Africa produces some of the worst shit. What was that last disease? Every time I went to the doctor they all had to ask If I traveled over seas.

Back in high school while I was in JROTC, we learned how to tie several knots. I even learned how to tie a Swiss seat. Talk about restricting the blood flow to your balls.
And here we all thought you were a woman!! Go figure....

Every survivalist must own the Swiss Army Champ. Bought this baby for 80 bones on the bay. Not too shabby.

I have this exact color. I wanted to be unique.

I have one of those in red. I broke the pliers abusing it, broke the tip off the awl drilling through metal. the scales are cracked and chipped, and the pen quit working soon after I got it. I still love the knife. I've considered buying another to replace the pliers, but everything else works pretty well, and I've had it for ~25 years. Hard to abandon a knife you've carried that long.

:D I knew you would respond. I knew about your Champ.

Everything in mine is still in decent shape and the pen still writes. In fact, I used it once to fill out a lotto ticket.

Well, the obvious first thing (not discounting the importance of clean water, food, clothing, first aid kit, fire, etc.) is physical and mental fitness and toughness. Those boy scout, eagle scout things...

I have various strategies. I keep stuff in the house, the garage and have quite a bit in my car just in case. The car could be all that's left after a big earthquake. I have clothes, blanket, food, water, first aid kit and more in the car.

As far as knots, I know how to tie a square knot, a bowline and a hangman's noose. I'm set.
