Hey Super, see my response to NFS but IMHO that is possibly one of the ugliest cars (short of the Aztek and the Element) that I have ever seen...sorry but the rounded ghey look really does nothing for me...

Hey NFS, I actually have seen a few Cayenne Turbos in person and agree their styling really isn't that impressive, but I strongly disagree on the nissan, I think it looks as bad if not worse than the Porsche, same can be said for the Murano which I also feel is "ass" ugly....you can have all the performance that you want but if the car (SUV in this case) looks like garbage then it will suck...I think the styling cues between the FX/Murano and the Cayenne are so similar that they should both be deemed ugly and feel people gloss over this with the Nissan simly because of the cheaper price and the performance...but with everything taste in styling is HIGHLY subjective and dependant on the viewer.

Most SUV's out there aren't much sport. They are sUV's.
FX45 is a SuV.

I agree.
I hate the Cayenne but the FX is nothing to fawn over either.
Everytime I see it, I think it looks like the Cheshire cat with beady eyes and a wide grin.
And like you said, styling is highly subjective. NFS4 thinks the MDX looks like a spaceship yet I think it looks like a standard SUV with an Acura facade. In fact, I posted a blurry picture of my MDX with HID lights and some guy on ATOT thought it was a CL. Also, NFS4 thought the rear of the car looked strange yet doesn't say anything about the GX470 and RX330 whose rear taillights look like they belong about a foot below where they actually are.
I'm not bashing NFS4 of course, I've just got to defend my ride.![]()

what separates, say, the FX45 from a 5 series wagon? an extra inch of ground clearance? more upright seating position? less usable interior space? the only reasonable conclusion is that they're both station wagons. which is why the FX is not an SUV

Yes, but it's that extra inch of ride height and seating position is what makes it an SUV.
A lot of people buy SUV's because they like to be looking over other people's roofs in traffic.
