The Gigabyte GA-SINXP1394 looks like the best P4 motherboard coming out (at least until the Canterwood chipset around April?). With the SIS chipset, it should be cheaper than the GA-8INXP, and includes the missing firewire (1394) from the 8INXP.

Anyone have any pricing (sugg. retail from Gigabyte says $210., but is available in Japan for around $170) or ETA info. on this board (it's out in Japan since around 18 January or so) in Europe or the US.?

This board looks to have it all, and I mean everything.

Here are the only links I could find on it:

http://www.gigabyte.co.jp/nippon/8sinxp/infomation.htm

I found a bunch more links by doing a search under 8SQ800 Ultra2 and GA-SINXP1394...
you can post links in this thread for more info...

With 6 phase power like the GA-8INXP, this should be a nice performer in benchmarks and nice overclocker! (I think we might be seeing this board on www.extremesystems.org forums?)

Anyone know when the HyperThreading enabled P4 2.4GHz CPU's are supposed to be released?

I saw a price list for both the 8INXP and the GA-8SQ800UL2/SINXP1394 on an Australian site

MBDG10012 Gigabyte GA-8SQ800UL2-SIS655, 533FSB, 4PCI, AGP 8x, AC97, LAN, USB2.0 $ 425
MBDG10006 Gigabyte GA-8INXP, 8xAGP, AC97, SATA, 2xDDR266, 6PCI, GigLAN, Raid (ETA Feb '03) $ 475

www.pluscorp.com.au

The SIS MOBO isn?t as cheap as I had hoped by comparison to the GB MOBO

I have also been quoted $550 expected for the 8INXP from a few stores that don?t have anything in stock yet????

Of course AUD prices don?t necessarily mean anything to the rest of the world. I think sometimes the guys over hear just charge whatever they feel like. However maybe the price comparison between the two boards may give some indication as to the general price difference. As in Not Half the price of the GB

I emailed them asking for info havnt heard back yet.
