whoever stole that sweet Thinkpad should be shot. A-series, right?

It was model R31 with 768 megs of ram. Came with 128, I upgraded it with a 512 stick. Only good thing about the mess is that I came out ahead with the insurance and got more for it than I paid for it. I had the chance to use it once.

Don't worry, Sealy and I have an open relationship. We have complete trust in each other. Isn't she a wonderful girl? I would say you should come with me and my buddy Thursday night but he just got hitched two months ago (wife is uber hot). I dunno what I'd two with you two. We'll see what I can come up with

As a kid I wrote a Q basic program to make madlibs out of children's stories like Frod & Toad and Curious George on my XT. I once modded one of my computers with parts from an industrial water pump, an over hood, and a stove. Pic Between my 4 primary computers, I have 9 processors. I have video of me and some buddies dragging a 386 behind my old pickup at about 30 MPH through a field. :)

I wanted to flightsim with four independent throttle levers for the 747. (You know, so I could control the 4 engines independently.)

So I got a PIC 16c765 microcontroller with built in USB port, a PIC programmer, and made myself a custom USB peripheral.

So there! Out-nerd *that*!

winner.

Thank you! :)

Here's a pic of the handiwork. The four silver potentiometers in the black plastic box are the 'throttles' and are controlling the four engines on the 747 on the screen.

ok here goes ill make it short and brief

back in 96 b4 anyone really knew about GPS my freind and i for a school project built a remote control car guided by GPS.

The car was a kit car that you buy at the hobby houses.

We built a controller based on a motorola 68000 microprocessor (overkill i know)which had eeproms to store the program. the processor, eeproms, power supply, LCD, and all the related hardware were put on a board and wire wrapped

I took the controller and stripped it down and using analog to digital and vice versa coverters which controlled the steering, accelaration of the car using the signals from the processer

A reciever at the microprocessor unit recieved the GPS signals from the cars on board transmitter coupled to the GPS unit and the processor took the raw data stripped it down and determined the longitude and latitude of the car.

By polling the position of the car the processor corrected the steering and accelration until it got to the users input location.

the program was written in assembly

I used to keep a sketchboard with pencils and plenty of paper next to the head. (toilet)

I drew quite a few schematics while sitting on the throne. From Wein Bridge oscillators to parallel grey code transmitters for lower overspin anemometers for the crow's nest. :)

Cheers!
