If I remember correctly, didn't some of the humvees in Black Hawk Down(book) have turrets with 40mm grenade launchers?
I guess the fifty gun is standard, but the 40mm would be cool as well...

BTW, I loved those 2 deaf guys with the 249's
 
auto fire wouldnt always necessarily be needed tho.. i'd like to see it in action tho.. i wonder how far apart in timing the shells come.. you could waste yerself quickly with one of those too.. accidently point it at the ground 🙂
 
Yep, the US has one exactly like it, an MK-19 40 mm. Grenade Launcher. This is a direct competitor to it, like it says in the site

I've seen videos of the MK-19 being fired, you can probably put out a grenade every second...cover a mean area with that. BTW, I think they have fuses so that they have to go a certain distance before the fuse activates. 😀
