wow. i think she should be held liable for atleast part of the search expense

Why? She did not initiate the search and obviously did not want to be found. The only crime I see that she committed was the 911 false report.

... which initiated the $100,000 search.

Show me in the law where an adult is obliged to let anyone know their whereabouts unless they are under some type of legal order to do so. This is why until recently when adults went missing they were assumed to have done so on their own volition unless evidence of foul play was discovered. If she was over 21 she is well within her rights to travel anywhere she wants without notifying anyone.

She was fine up until she called 911 & reported she'd been kidnapped.

At that point I have no problem finding her liable for all costs incurred while searching for her dumb ass. At minimum all costs from the 911 call on, & I would be in favor of sending her a bill for every bit of it (from the day she disappeared).

You are 100% correct. An adult does not have to let anyone know where they are going.

BUT She then turned around a called 911 claiming to be kidnapped. Wich is what sparked off the search for her. Wich cost $100k.

She should be liable for the cost of the bogus kidnapping.

I think that she was smart. SHe planned a huge wedding and the whole celebration had too much momentum. If she wanted out, this was the only way that she could figure out to do it. I think that she was smart to back out when she did.

I think you are dumb.

Why thank you very much.
In her mind, she knew no other way to get out of it. She was almost certainly too afraid to tell anyone how she felt, so this was her only escape. It was better to get out of it than to go through with it if she didn't feel comfortable about it.

That doesn't make her smart though does it? More like irrational, cowardly, negligent, compulsive, selfish, flaky?

I have no problem with her being prosecuted for the bogus 911 call and any costs incurred from that point forward. If I were her though I would fight vigorously paying any costs incurred prior to that call.

Or she could try being an adult and not throw a tantrum and run away.
