Because the Dems initially screwed it up causing a new direction to be needed.

And the Dems have been complaining about this for 6 years; have had 1 presidential and 2 congressional elections to come up with solutions.

It does not look like the Dems have had a clue up to this point.

If they get control of the House, there will be no measurable difference except a potential stalemate in the government operations but no real change in the internal direction/attitudes of congressional actions.

If they are unable to change the status quo, there will be the same refrain that has been heard for the past 2 years finding excuses up the wazoo for their failures rather than looking internally.

Deflecting Republican failures onto Democrats when they have no mechanism to effect change is patently absurd. I ask again. Why do we need to be saved from the Democrats when the Republicans are responsible for the deplorable situation we find ourselves in?
Excuses up the "wazoo" indeed. When are you going to stop making excuses and face facts?

Right now, both parties are cut from the same cloth.

When the Dems will come up with a valid vision for the future; I will consider voting for representives from that party.

We need a hero, and fast.

Yes, a benevolent dictator..... let us know when you find one.

This is how it starts. Next thing you know the left will be parading around their own Chavez sent from the heavens to save all of us from bitter partisanship.

Or from some of the things that I have read on these forums, Chavez himself.

The thing is, can the Democrats save the U.S. from itself? Even if they got in, which is doubtful in my view, aren't they mired in the same mess? We need a hero, and fast.

I think the real question is whether the U.S. can save itself from the Democratic party, which has become too extreme. If you're looking for a "Hero" in there, you are SOL.

Ridiculous. This concept is one the Republicans have succeeded in pushing for years now, but the truth is that they, not the Democrats, have veered far far away from center. The reality is that the most powerful Democrats are moderates, whereas the most powerful Republicans are extreme Christian conservatives. This is a by-product of what I feel is an over-reliance on evangelical Christians - God knows (no pun intended) that wasn't how Nixon/Goldwater/Reagan did business - but in any case I see little tangible support for the concept of the "radical leftists."

OK

You say they are both "cut from the same cloth" yet it is all Republican controlled so why not "mix" in or let Dems take some control for a change???

What could it hurt since you say they are both "cut from the same cloth" anyway?
