From the story on Yahoo!

"UNITED NATIONS - Just hours after a series of explosions in London, the
U.N. Security Council voted unanimously Thursday to condemn the terrorist attacks and vowed to bring those responsible to justice. "

They had to vote to condem the terrorists??????

EDIT: fixed some typos

Well, it was a unanimous vote... but yeah, they are more or less a democratic organization, so they vote....

Hooray for the world trying to work together and all but what does voting to not like terrorism accomplish? Are they paid on a per-vote basis?

Voting is standard procedure. It isn't like the have the special "list of stuff we don't vote about before issuing a resolution". Would you be happier if they elected Annan to be dictator for life so that they could respond 20 minutes faster?

I'd be ahppier if the UN disappeared from the face of the earth.

How did you think things work there, a power of attorney provided from all the nations so one person can speak for everyone and make all the decisions?

The next terrorists brought to justice by the UN will be the very first terrorists brought to justice by the UN.

reminds me of team america...

Kim Jong Il: Hans Brix? Oh no! Oh, herro. Great to see you again, Hans!
Hans Blix: Mr. Il, I was supposed to be allowed to inspect your palace today, but your guards won't let me enter certain areas.
Kim Jong Il: Hans, Hans, Hans! We've been frew this a dozen times. I don't have any weapons of mass destwuction, OK Hans?
Hans Blix: Then let me look around, so I can ease the UN's collective mind. I'm sorry, but the UN must be firm with you. Let me in, or else.
Kim Jong Il: Or else what?
Hans Blix: Or else we will be very angry with you... and we will write you a letter, telling you how angry we are.
Kim Jong Il: OK, Hans. I'll show you. Stand to your reft.
Hans Blix: [Moves to the left]
Kim Jong Il: A rittle more.
Hans Blix: [Moves to the left again]
Kim Jong Il: Good.
[Opens up trap, Hans falls in]

I'd be happier if Annan died of ass cancer, but that's really neither here nor there.

World government through the United Nations is a serious threat to the freedom of all Americans. Imagine being held prisoner in a foreign land and tried in an international court with judges from such countries as Afghanistan, China, or Iraq.

The United Nations (financed by American taxpayers!) has long been a safe harbor for terrorist and oppressive regimes which target America as the enemy.

Even more alarming, the United Nations is beginning to take aim at the God-given rights enjoyed by Americans since our great nation was founded. The right to self defense, use your own property, or even the right to have children may all be trampled if the United Nations is allowed to have the power it seeks.

You need the UN for these things to occur?
The US can do it all by themselves.
Although I don't see the UN taking away the right to have children, but that's just MHO.
