The Two Towers Earns $101 Million over 5 Days.

Here's a couple interesting stats...

"The Two Towers" now boasts the biggest December opening in history, the biggest opening ever for a film with a three-hour running time (passing the $59.1 debut of "Pearl Harbor"), the second best five-day opening mark (behind the $105.7 million haul of "The Phantom Menace"), the fifth best opening of the year (behind "Spider-Man", "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", "Attack of the Clones" and "Austin Powers in Goldmember") and the 12th biggest opening in history. TTT also tied TPM and "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" as the third fastest film(s) to reach the $100 million mark (5 days).

I wonder how much it will pull in with DVD sales. It seems to me the movie business is a pretty good business to be in.

heh, i just saw the first one on dvd for the first time yesterday, pretty good! some parts seemed a little hokey to me though... as in it gave me a b-movie cheapness type feel.

If you are talking about the troll in the mines, PJ did it that way intentionally. Watch the directors comentary on the DVD.
