The tv show "Ed"...Poll: Thumbs up or down

I've seen most of the shows since the beginning and not a single one was a disappointment.

Then suddenly I hear it may not make it past the fourth season finale where Ed and Caol get married. Apparently it almost wasn't even renewed for a fourth season. I always thought it was one of the top 5 shows on the major networks.

What do you guys think? Vote thumbs up or down and post why.

I don't watch much TV, but my wife never misses it.

Probably being dropped for another "reality show"

I'm really disappointed that this is going off the air. I love the show.

Unfortunately it seems like not a lot of people agree with me. :(

I can't believe it didn't at least do well enough to keep its Wednesday slot before West Wing.

I've been watching the show since the second season. It's got quirky, likable characters and generally funny dialogue.

However, it almost wasn't renewed for this season and I'm almost certain it won't be renewed for next season. The ratings just aren't good enough. NBC has been promoting the last few episodes this season as "the final episodes of Ed".

I watched the first 2 seasons religiously and then I lost track of it. It's just so different from everything out there and when they brought in the dude on the wheelchair I thought it just made the show even better. Even though I don't watch it regularly now it's sad that it might be canceled. I think what killed it was moving it to Fridays. WTH!

Oh well. Pisses me off that networks think that their shows always have to rank in at number 1 to be succesful instead of being happy that a chunk of people are still tuning in and enjoying the show. The turn-over rate for TV shows nowadays is so freaking crazy. :(

It actually reminds me, the feel of it, of Northern Exposure. I was too young to watch much Northern Exposure when I was a kid, but I watched the reruns when I was in college like they were crack.

I think there's a degree of subtelty to shows like Ed and Northern Exposure than the vast majority either don't get or don't appreciate. Most popular comedies are like long beer commercials now.

I'd give it "Up". I don't exactly plan my night around it though... But the few times I've watched it, it's been good. That show has to end when the chase is over.

I used to watch this show a lot, and liked it a lot. I agree strongly with a previous post talking about the television networks and about ratings, and think tv is turning into overhyped reality show crap, and comedies such as Frasier and Two and a Half Men which are billed as funny, but really, really suck ass.
