Solid rollout of the greatest tax hike in American history.
Not only are the American people going to be much poorer, our foreign relations are going to shit.
Seen as hostile actions that disrupt their economies too. Bonus points for the policy being delivered as blackmail.

Damn, the BRICS countering the USA shows that other countries will try to resist the situation... unlike the EU.

MAGAt: "Donald, how could you do this to me? How could you fuck me over like this?......Anyway..."

MAGAt: The dems are worse so I'll vote for MAGA again and again and again.

It's religion at this point.. you can't talk sense into a religious cult!

Important Notice for Our U.S. Customers

Thank you so much for always placing orders from soposopo.com. This time, although we have been working hard, we have very unfortunate news. We pray for changes in the future, but unfortunately we have this kind of announcement for now.

Effective August 29, 2025 at 12:01 AM (Eastern Daylight Time), the U.S. government will officially end the de minimis exemption for imports under $800. As a result, all imports—regardless of value—will require customs clearance and be subject to duties. This change applies to all U.S.-bound orders, whether purchased by individuals, companies, or retailers.

This notice is based on information available as of August 8, 2025 at 5:00 AM (Eastern Daylight Time).

IMPORTANT: Please read the following information in full before placing your order.

Place Your Order Early

According to current law, shipments arriving in the United States by August 29, 2025 will still qualify for duty-free entry.

However, due to expected shipping delays and customs congestion, we are setting a safe arrival date of August 27, 2025.

To meet this deadline, please place your order no later than August 15, 2025.

For U.S. customers who order by August 15, we will make every effort to deliver your shipment by the safe arrival date to avoid duties.

New Policy Details

  • The duty rate for imports from the EU (including Finland) has been set at a firm 15%.
  • In addition, from August 29, 2025 through the end of February 2026, a temporary flat-rate duty system will apply:
    $80 / $160 / $200 per item, depending on the product’s country of origin

    • Duties are charged at a fixed amount regardless of product price, meaning lower-priced items may bear a disproportionately higher duty rate

Certainty of Implementation

This policy change is based on a Presidential Executive Order signed on July 30, 2025 and is not expected to be reversed before the effective date.

However, as President Trump has previously altered or withdrawn tariff policies, we cannot completely rule out future changes. At present, the above reflects the official U.S. government announcement.

Disclaimer

We are not responsible for any duties incurred if a shipment arrives late due to shipping delays, customs processing, or any other factors beyond our control.

All duties and fees imposed upon import will be the responsibility of the customer.

To avoid unexpected duty charges, we strongly recommend placing your order as early as possible.

Since we have many American customers in our business, we believe this will have an impact. If you could cooperate with us, we would be truly grateful if you could place your order by the 15th.

If you need products from Finland, please note that these duties are expected to remain in place going forward. We therefore recommend considering a bulk purchase now, or placing multiple orders by August 15 to minimize the impact.

We would like to continue working hard in the future, so please continue to support us.

Also, this year has seen record-breaking heat waves around the world. Even here in Finland, it has apparently been the hottest year on record. Please take care of your health and have a wonderful summer.

Sincerely

Fucking great. Middle of August is the best time ever to order chocolate from overseas, and the knäckbröd I was gonna get this fall isn't even available yet. I guess I'll just have to buy US salmiak and julknäck. I assume someone here has a link for that :^S

Owing to the fact that Russia appears better prepared and organized than the Trump admin....
We are become North Korea. Do you think North Koreans get to order things from overseas?
It will get worse. Human life itself will be under threat by MAGA Nazis.

Thanks for that post, I just ordered a couple pairs of pants from Thailand and Turkey on Etsy a couple of days ago. I thought I would be paying a tariff but it looks like I'm in the clear.

Assuming there is no TACO on this, August 29th is going to be a very important date for future consumer spending, GDP, employment and other important economic numbers. I'm predicting it's not going to be pretty and the markets will eventually start reflecting reality.

I keep an eye on ETF's like voo and the rest and I just saw them being dwarfed today by something out of nowhere..

Honestly, I want to see everything blow up. I feel like the pain's been too slow in coming, and people are complacent. If I'm being honest, my life hasn't changed substantially since dickhead assumed office. There's a shit ton of stuff that *will* affect me somewhere down the road, but even then, it's hard to point to something precise. How do you quantify your shittier life due to science avoidance? People's wallets getting hammered is a better attention getter.

It'll definitely distract from Epstein!

A combination of front running and TACOs has created lag in when consumers start feeling pain. Companies have been eating more of the tariffs than they would normally hoping Trump just changes his mind again. All that is coming to an end right now from what I see online and consumers are noticing.

So maybe I'm not alone in seeing the current high is a illusion.
Of course not, I'd say anyone who thinks otherwise is the delusional one. I liquidated 80% of my portfolio in Feb/March and went heavy into gold. It's worked out great so far and I have no plans on making any drastic changes anytime soon.

Honestly, with American voters, and the (so called) undecided voters in specific, being a pedophile is better than a bad economy.
Trump will end up releasing the Epstein files to distract from the economy if it goes poorly (and how can it not?)
