I shouldn't say this as I'm a liberal.. but Biden lost on immigration. Trump won on immigration. But the migrants Biden let in boosted the economy hugely.

So now Trump's trying to get rid of the migrants and put tariffs.. that's like shooting yourself in both feet.. the economy and people's ability to pay for goods/ services/ meds they need.

He'll need a lot of shady accounting to say the roof is not falling.. but how can the roof not fall when you knock out the pillars of support?

Inflation was by far the most salient issue to voters. It is true that the number of people Biden (legally) admitted actually helped keep it relatively low and fueled growth. Since Trump has collapsed legal immigration and is trying to arrest the undocumented workforce it's starting to have the same effect in raising prices that people were unhappy about, along with his tariffs. Choking off the labor supply is inflationary.

Are you sure about that? His approval rating on inflation is taking the biggest hit. Doesn't that indicate that it's the most salient issue right now, and he is failing drastically at it? If it wasn't important, it wouldn't be taking the biggest hit.
