The one thing I'm starting to wonder and maybe CEO's are too.. wouldn't it be better to just move out of the US to Canada or Luxembourg and deal with standardized EU requirements?

Heck even Canada was thinking of applying to be part of the EU.

The company I work is privately owned, and multi-national. We have facilities in Mexico, Singapore, China, etc. but none in Canada except sales representation. The raw material I am talking about is actually available cheaper in Canada than what is available in Ohio where there is another huge mine. I am not high enough in the company to know if Canada manufacturing would be an option, but don't think do.

With the proposed new retaliatory tariffs on the EU, I can't wait to see new import providers popping up offering innovative solutions with reduced paperwork requirements (ie, smuggling).

Québécois trafficking illegal French alcohol across the NY border is going to be quite the little industry.

"Get in losers, we're going to crash the economy."

It's like a game of competitive self-harm

UK: Brexit
US: Trump 1
UK: I see your Trump and raise you a Liz Truss budget
US: Trump 2, now with tariffs - match that!

Our turn next - fully expecting a Farage government at the next election.

If somebody put the question to me at this point I would vote for California to join Canada. I am not a separatist or secessionist by nature but if I had the option of not being tied to this mast as the ship slowly goes down I'd take it.

I think the same over here in NY.

Yep. I would do the same and I would knock on doors around here to get people to vote to secede.

As I've been saying for years it's the only solution to save 100 million people from the utter evil that is the Republican party.
