Those cheaper prices everybody wanted are surely coming due to Trump's trade war. Just gotta be patient.

Let's just arbitrarily jack up the cost of a core material in so much of our production. What could go wrong?

Last study I can recall seeing said that the previous Trump tariff on steel and aluminum also cost the us 75K manufacturing jobs due to higher input costs.

Pretty sure you are bang on. I remember that one. A handful of new jobs were created on the production side but 75K gone from the usage side. He doesn't seem to get that it's the materials, not the products, that are going to kill the economy with these tariffs. Damn near everything assembled in the U.S. relies on imported materials.

Trump threatening huge tariffs on all autos from Canada. I think at this point Canada just has to say - we are starting our tariffs on the US due to the current US administration's insanity and aggression - say that in some nice but plain words, and stand up to these fuckers. Someone has to do it.

Wonder why he isn't demanding that Mexico becomes the 52nd state. Oh...right. Brown people.

Kill Canadian "Big 3" manufacturing? China will replace it after the 100% Tariffs are dropped.

Good 'ol Trump driving wedges between us and our long time allies. Why is that? Who benefits from the chaos and uncertainty Trump is creating on the international scale while his co-president is creating chaos, fear and confusion internally, right here in the USA. What's the real reason why Trump, with the help of the SCOTUS and his rubber stamping Republican controlled House and Senate is purposefully messing things up when there was no reason to?

This transparent bogus reason he and Elon is giving about getting rid of waste and fraud may work wonders on their dumbed down electorate and while the apparent reason about squeezing and wringing out the workings of gov't that serve the middle class and the poor for fun, profit and tax cuts for themselves is true, it seems there's the inner workings of P2025 that needs paying more attention to.

There is a pretty cool free "Buy Canadian" app on google play-store from Underlabs, inc.

Not much more can be said about Trump: he has lost his mind (not sure if he had it before) and the chaos he's causing is just outrageous.

In the past few months we have had meetings with businesses that we purchase capitol equipment from. One sells machines that are right around a million a piece and up. They mentioned that they made advanced purchases on vital components in advance of the tariff war so they would be able to service existing equipment and new customer purchases and keep the cost increases relatively in check for the coming year.

Another one yesterday mentioned the tariff effect, and sourced all of the components they normally order from Germany ahead of time so they could also keep business as stable as possible. The company I work for has facilities in Mexico and Canada and ll over the world. Ownership here is definitely conservative, but still nervous about the tariffs. Haha fuckers I think to myself.

LoL even McD the standard bearer of American Hegemony is quick to point out they use Canadian supplies.
this due to our food laws and regulations.

Some of our fast food places only share the name with their American counterparts such as A&W.

Business leaders should be flogged through the streets. For years, they've played footsie with these Republican clowns, and now the chickens are coming home to roost.

I have my ear to the ground in the development world and whoo the financing on a lot of stuff is imploding due to tariff uncertainty, regulatory uncertainty, high 10 year yields, and concerns that the US economy is slowing.

All this points to a crash in housing production which is going to fuel inflation.

Well I am glad I bought my car when I did, as the MSRP has jumped up $400 since Trump took office.

Here's the stick of the car I bought on December 31st.

And here is the sticker of the same car right now.

I intentionally tried to purchase before he got in office. Glad I did.

Also, they're going to lay off tons of workers and put educated people out of a job (through various funding freezes) which means all those connected suppliers, contractors, local restaurants, etc are all going to suffer. The stupidest recession ever.

Imagine slashing the tires on the US economy just because voters were bored.

Literally cannot conceive of how any company can make investment decisions with this stuff hanging over them. So they probably just won't for the foreseeable future.

Party like it’s 1930!

Trump has no awareness of anything that has happened in the world since 1980. His proposals address a world that doesn’t exist using policies with proven track records of utter failure.
