Hegseth says people like him should be fired on the spot and criminally prosecuted for this sort of mishandling of information.
Only way he'll face consequences is if the Emperor cares.
 
Right about now I can see folks over at the Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation slapping their foreheads flat over this mother of all security fuck-ups yet what can you expect when Trump picked his cabinet for their ability to suck his butt, stroke his ego and swing an axe at the agencies they were picked to lead.

They're all posers and hosers acting as if they actually earned their stripes in the agencies Trump dropped them off in. I laugh at each and every one of them whenever they strut around with their chins stuck high up in the air saying and doing some really stupid shit while demanding respect when what they actually deserve is a flogging.
 
The side scandal is the Trump White House is using a non-governmental open-source encryption app Signal despite already having government issued encrypted devices. Why is this a problem? There is no record when communications are done on non-governmental sources. This is a direct violation of the records act which states government actions must be archived. These corrupt people don't want a record of what they are doing.

Dems had better get on this.

One other person stated that the signal app was approved for use and was loaded on his desktop and phone him. He admitted he was in the group message and he said no classified data was shared.

Is there a new definition of what classified information means now?

Yes when it's a way to beat up on the press and democrats it's "classified", when it would look bad for the administration "Not classified". Trump magically retroactively in his mind decided the timing, target lists, units to be used, etc of an attack on a foreign country that had not be announced in advance was "not classified".

The whole "not classified" despite being all the details of an attack on a foreign country is just laughable sad as a lie. As fski pointed out, it isn't just the lying its that they are so fucking lazy and bad at it.
 
This hearing is so frustrating. They're lying by omission. Every answer to a question of substance is one of "I don't recall" or "I have no recollection" or "I'm not aware of that".

It's obvious, and everyone knows it. But no one can do anything about it.

If that signal app was government approved we would have records of conversations as prescribed by law. Do we have those?
 
Tulsi did give a pretty good answer with regards to cyber threats and trumps dismantling of the department that’s tasked with overseeing such attacks: having more people doesn’t always mean better results.
