"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." - Thomas Jefferson

Looking in retrospect over the cowardly adoption of the phase from Tommy J. with the teabag crowd - are they honest enough to face that the events of the last week are what they seek?

Also, the phrase on Timothy Mcveigh's tshirt when arrested after the OK City bombing.

Damn shame most teabaggers have no clue what it means.

The teabag snake is a perfect logo for them.

We have representative democracy aka republic. Hard to argue tyranny. TJ wrote a lot about "right to revolution" and nutters miss the critical element, representation.

and that dismisses that idea of the teabag crowd has offered insurrection as a remedy?

All I know is:

1. I don't endorse violence against out government, we are a long way from real tyranny.

2. That guy was not a tea partier and I doubt he was influenced by them

3. I haven't heard anyone endorse what that guy did, tea party or not

4. We've had like 4-5 threads about this in the past week or so

It's not as though there were prominent Tea Party candidates calling for armed actions in response to electoral losses. If they had been irresponsibly throwing around phrases such as "Second Amendment Solutions" you might have a point.

Yeah, interesting as in insane asshole. What the hell is an anarcho-capitalist anyway? If there's no authority, how would capitalism work? Someone would soon just shoot you and take your stuff rather than paying you for it.

Gotta give the Tea Parties credit for one thing, they bring out the loons like previously only the left could do. Who the hell knew there were so many Lyndon LaRouche supporters left? Who would have ever suspected that those same supporters of Lyndon LaRouche (Marxist who ran for President many times for the Democrat Party and for the US Labor Party) would congregate with people from the John Birch society (created to directly fight Marxism)?

Tea Party rallies look almost the same as anti-war, anti-Bush rallies looked four years ago, just cleaner and better smelling. And with less trash. And less chance of getting laid afterward.

That quote only applies to those movements that are not morally bankrupt succeeding in their right to revolution. The teabaggers, although unified, did not have the underlying moral, philosophical, or logical foundation to justify any 'second amendment remedy'. You cannot free yourselves from a self-imposed tyranny of ignorance with a gun.
