I have been looking around for a new laptop for just about a wek now and I have seen this one at a real good price its the
Toshiba Satellite P25-S609 Media Center Notebook PC.

But I am now wondering why I am finding it at such low prices, is it a lemon or i it a real good LapTop? I know its one huge
puppy but I am not a business man so the akward size does not matter to me as I would just be taking it to work and camping (in my 5th wheel :) )

thanks guys for helping!!

I would be rather wary of any place advertising a price so out of line with the laptops 'going price'. Is this a private deal or have you seen a store advertising this price?

Hi Bryans

Yes, it certainly does seem to good to be true. I have seen that particular notebook listed at around $1000.oo from different sellers on this one Web page, so it does appear to be legit, thats why I was asking about this notebook incase it had been a big lemon but if not it would seem to be a heck-of-a deal :)

If you decide to buy it I would make sure you pay with something that would be traceable (IE: not cash and not western union) and get/ verify as much information as you can about the seller. If you are willing to put up with the size and weight of the s609 it is a very powerfull, full featured laptop.

Thanks again, I wasn't aware of not going the western union route. You probably saved me one big LOSS!!

Money sent via western union is much harder to track, thus many scammers will require that you use it. You can see this in many of the ebay scam auctions (BUY a new 17" powerbook for $500!!! and others of that ilk).

The HP that you mention in you last post looks nice. The Pentium M processor will not use much power and it should have a good battery life. Since it is a refurbished unit I believe you will have only a 90 day warrenty, but if you are comfortable with that it should be a good laptop. What do you plan on using it for?

Basically, its just for fun stuff. I am a big time game so I have my high end system just for gaming. My laptop would be for internet surfing, emails, DVDs,
Digital photo editing, studying (Bible software) word-processing and etc. etc. :)
