Inspired by a recent movie I saw: Unthinkable.

Without spoiling it, the basic premise is that a terrorist manages to smuggle some nuclear bombs into your country. He is captured and taken to an unknown facility. You are a specialist that is called in to "extract" the location of said bombs and you are given free reign over the methods for which to obtain this information while the powers that be feign ignorance as they distance themselves from you in the face of the Geneva convention.

So what would you do? What would Jack Bauer do? Be as colorful and creative as you like. ()🙂


edit: Also consider that you do not want to kill the guy so pick your methods wisely.

If person is susceptible to sea-sickness then put them on a rocking boat in the dark. Nausea can be worse than pain.

It's getting too hard to obtain the necessary chemicals required to liquify bone...and the stench...why it's worse than the bathroom in a bar on Chili Dog night...
 
The psychological threat of torture usually instills enough fear to get what you want out of it. If that doesn't work, I'll start with waterboarding (which is actually pretty effective) and move my way up from there

The terrorist is an educated white muslim convert who used to be special forces/bomb squad or something who purposely let himself get caught and was prepared to die. He was going to use the bombs as ransom[hence why it's on a timed fuse], the US had to free all POWs and broadcast to the world a statement that paints them in a negative light. There's also a reason why het let himself be caught but I don't quite remember why. Anyway, he had arranged for his wife and children to leave the country but they were stopped in time and Sam L Jackson tortures his wife and kills her in front of him then as he's about to do the same to his kids he reveals the location. There's more after that but that's not what you were questioning about so I'll leave that out since it'll require more explaining


edit: anyway I think it's a good movie and should be watched. There are some gory parts but I've seen worse, what makes the movie great is not because of the torture[though that leaves the most lasting impression] but is great imo because it delves into the psychological factors behind weighing right and wrong at great costs.

see edit... the premise didn't really interest me as much as enjoying the toll on the human condition. Samuel L Jackson plays the hardcore torture artist but there's also a normal everyday character in Carrie Anne Moss's portrayal where she had to assist Sam[one of his requirements if he's to take on the assignment of being a "monster"]. I like movies where they deal in gray areas where good guys have to do horrible things to get results... I enjoy emotional turmoil. :twisted:
