But of course, the big story on Sportscenter is "how bad the sAints played"...not how well the Titans played.

If ESPN had their way, the Tennessee Titans and Notre Dame would swap places.

I have Brees, Deuce, and Steven Jackson :(

Let me guess, youre in last place?
surprisingly, i'm 3-0 (thanks to Randy Moss and terrible games by my opponents). I know it won't last long though. i'm pretty much conceding next week with Jackson out.

3-0 but I expect a loss coming soon unless Brady can carry my team forever!

The Titans played well but the Saints' season is over. Oh, and the MNF announcing crew sucks ass. I'll take Al Michaels and John Madden over those dipshits any day.

I actually liked ESPN's SNF crew over the past few years...
Move Al & John back to monday and bring back the SNF crew.

To the OP: This thread runs along the same lines as your post. It immediately became a fantasy football discussion.

Go Titans!

BTW, word is Deuce has a torn ACL. Ouch. :(

Lets change gears then. Why are people so interested in NOS? They suck. Bush hasn't done a thing this season, Brees went color blind and can't throw to someone wearing the same jersey as him and Deuce is out for the season. NOS blows this season. They made a mistake, they brought hype to a team that really didnt deserve the hype before the season started. Katrina has nothing to do with football, just like Mike Tyson has nothing to do with sports yet we see him on ESPN for hours.

Man up, remove the stupid Credit Card commercials, dissipate the hype, and find some other team to focus on.

that lady who thought she was so clever was the worst... "we'll see who deserves a beignet after the game!" - the smugness makes me want to puke

The Saints are so bad. I don't understand what happened to their offensive line. The runners have no holes, and Brees has about 1/8 of a second to throw. No one expected their defense to be that great, but their offense is just BAD. Looks like the cinderella story is over.

On the subject of ESPN's broadcast...ugh. Now, the announcing team is better, Jaws is a million times better than Theisman, and thank GOD they got rid of Paul McGuire, but Kornheiser should stick to PTI. What really, really pisses me off is the player intros. Good god, just quickly announce who is playing and get on with it. We missed two full plays on the Saints second drive, because we had to sit there and listen to Drew Brees and some Titans player joke around about their players' nicknames. While Brees is going Deuuuuce and Reggie, Reggie, the REAL Deuce and Reggie were actually on the field running the ball. Why the HELL do they do that?? It made me so mad.

At least the greatest player in NFL history (according to analysts and marketing) had those two MONSTER 1yr TD runs. Go Bush! You overrated piece of crap!

My favorite quote last night was something like

"Reggie Bush is an incredible running back, but he's not among the elites in the league" ... What does that mean? He's not super-duper-incredibly-awesomely-incredible?

That being said, I think the Saints need to take the leash off of him and let him get a big number of carries. With Deuce out, he's going to get his chance.

Reggie Bush will get better when he learns how to be an NFL running back. He wants to dance around behind the line of scrimmage and go east-west like he did in college, and eventually (if he's to become a star in this league) he'll have to learn not to do that.

Duece hasn't been running and Bush just isn't enough of an 'up the middle' threat for any play action to work. In addition to that, the running backs aren't doing much for blocking either. They made some good plays last night, it was the turnovers that killed them. You could say that their offensive line just isn't effective enough. They need a couple of veteran linemen in there to protect Brees so he can get settled in the pocket. He's got a mega-fast release, but he's being forced to throw before the play is developed.

Some of those throws he made last night were QB error....one inparticular, he threw behind the receiver, which ultimately caused the interception.

-------------------

Having said all that, I'm a Titans fan and feel that they have a lot of work to do. Young is still needing to step up and work on his passing game. The TN offense is a little too predictable if you ask me. That's my biggest concern...

What happened to the Saints' offensive line? Last season they seemed to have few protection problems, this season it's like open season on the QB.

I think this has more to do with the expectations the Saints had coming into the season. For ESPN, the Saints is a bigger story due to those very high expectations and looking lost so far this season. We knew what Vince Young and the Titans could do (given how Young performed the second half of last year).
