If his knees disintegrate like most catchers do, he wouldn't even be valuable at 1B or DH because his hitting numbers would also plummet. He certainly wouldn't be able to play 2nd. But like I said, he may be an exception... he is still going pretty strong and appears to keep himself in really good shape.
