the thread that decides my future (current topic: bs in two years?)

I know I've started more than my share of threads about test scores, early decision, majors, etc. so I decided that I'll put everything in here in the future and update when I need to.

3) is there anything wrong with getting a bachelor's degree in two years? I think I've worked it out at the university of utah and byu but I'm wondering if there's anything I'm overlooking. ap tests will give me 72 and 53 credits respectively, as well as fulfilling most of my GEs. a few of the GEs that aren't covered by ap classes are covered by courses required for my major. the majors are 38 and 55 credits respectively. I'll have the required number of credits for graduation by the end of two years (ap credits do count towards this, correct?). it almost seems too easy. so... is it?

4) how difficult is it to get into a ph.d. program in clinical/counseling psychology? I'm not planning on getting my master's degree.

You're kidding, right?

My son's phychologist (NOT psychiatrist) makes close to 150k per year. He's leaving for a 1 year cruise next month. bastage... heh

heh... okay. I figured a psychologist makes more but what's the difference in what they do?

Far as I know, AP credits do count toward your graduation requirements, just not your GPA. But 93 hours in 2 years? Take it easy and do it in 2 1/2 or 3. Unless you plan on taking summer classes. I'm sure some people will say that taking that kind of load is doable, but you'll hate your life less if you stretch it out a little more. Unless your school is on the quarter system and you take 16 hours per quarter or something.

Depends entirely on the school. You WILL be able to get into A graduate program, but how good the program is depends on your performance in college. 🙂

ooh. I got a response. I'm guessing you got 98 credits from 38 + 55. what I meant was that the requirements for a bachelor's degree in psych are 38 credits at the univ. of utah and 55 at byu. I listed both because I'm not sure which school I'm going to. it'll only be ~15 credits per semester. I'll have to take a couple classes during the winter if I go to byu so I don't get caught up on prereqs.
