canada is a 3rd world country?

Well, Nash is originally from South Africa. But still, that ain't no 3rd world country.

Since when is South Africa not a third world country? High birth rates, low life expectancies, high aids rates, etc..

I stand corrected.

Well, in the traditional sense, a "third world" country would be a country non-aligned during WWII. I think South Africa allied with the Western bloc (for communist containment).

Looks like that map has South Korea and Taiwan as 3rd world countries, whereas Mongolia is a 2nd world country. 😕

I don't know much about South Africa, but it's probably got the demographics of two countries within as an aftermath of apartheid.

The white section is far from third world. It's two totally separate countries.

OP, no.

Steve Nash is a phenomenal athlete. My buddy went to Santa Clara and was the same year as Nash. He used to see him in the weight room all the time. Even though he doesn?t look it, pound for pound he?s strong as sh!t. He has godly coordination. His vision is amazing. Further, he?s a great soccer player ? he could have played at Santa Clara, then a perennial NCAA Div. 1 powerhouse. His father was a professional soccer player, his brother *is* a professional soccer player. It?s not like he?s scraping the bottom of the gene pool in terms of athletic ability.

Yup he's certainly a freak of nature alright... Can't wait till A.Stod is back, Suns should win it all.

But for now you can watch the Mavs win it all.

$5 bet? Pussy. Didn't I bet you in another sports game, and you had to pay me? Sounds like deja vu all over again Rob. 😛
It's ok, I'm still living off the interest from my bets from the Red Sox beating the Yanks down 0-3 kekeke... 😉

I'm not a Yanks fan, but I hate the RS more than the Yanks. 😛

No question he's inspiring. As 'hungfarover' explained, he's not at the bottom of the gene pool, but nevertheless is no where near the top for an nba player either.

I think he's overrated to have gotten 2 mvp's, but even to be legitimately considered twice for him makes him close to the ultimate overachiever in my book.

Well, again, historically the "Second World" refers to the Cold War countries allied with the Soviet Union and part of the Eastern bloc. Although, I believe there are a few historical inaccuracies in that map (regarding the Third World).

HoP got the white part right!

😀

The think I like best about the Steve Nash story is the fact that he played for Santa Clara in college - certainly a small time program.
