Even if they had a copyright over the term, considering that they have not been enforcing it until recently, can they still take anyone to court over the matter ?

I mean, by now, the term "netbook" has become generic enough to invalidate it, right?

NOTE: I'm not a lawyer, and have only a basic understanding of copyright law.

Yup, and IIRC Psion had not used the trademark in a number of years. If manufacturers wanted to challenge this, they may be able to make the case that the trademark was abandoned and was fair game. Probably not worth the time/money, though.

edit: But I'm not a lawyer either, so I could be way off. :p
