I've decided to experiment with having my windows taskbar on the left side rather than the bottom (where it's been since I started using Win 95). Just to see if it's any better/worse.

I tried something similar and still kept trying to click "start" in the bottom left corner. It frustrated me so much that I just switched my taskbar back to the bottom.

Conditioning... ain't it a bitch?

Home: Bottom
Work: Other (well, right, but it's the right of my left screen, so "middle".

You're right, I hate when the title bar gets stuck behind the taskbar.

Using ubuntu so taskbar and desktop selection on the bottom, equivalent of the start menu, quick launch, and system tray on the top.

Top. It seems to reduce having to mouse around as much, since my mouse is up there for the application menus and window controls anyway.

"Other." I was able to more-or-less get rid of my taskbar with ObjectDock, so now it stays permanently hidden.

Thirded! ;)

It just seems more natural to me to "pull down" through menus than "push up".

I used to have my taskbar up top when I used Win98 a few years back. Just seems more appropriate having a stalactite rather than stalagmite menu. I just haven't gotten around to dragging my current taskbar up top yet. Having it locked makes it harder. ;)
