They visited a news anchor on a broadcast fully armed. What's scary? Who gave this guy a gun?

Shrug, you only fire with one eye anyhow. I'd wager he could pick you off from 100yd.

Consider this: he's been an insurgent long enough to survive the US pullout, with a lazy eye.

On another note, why isn't this in P&N?

Ok...you got me. This is a picture of a "news" anchor....but it's not really news.

I was born with a lazy eye and because I didn't seek a doctor for treatment, of course it spread to the rest of me.

20 years of war? Probably over 40 at this point.

Remember, they were fighting the Russians back in the day and their weapons were funded by the US.

Gee this was a tough outcome to predict.... nearly my EXACT call of how invading Afganistan would ultimately resolve 19 freaking years ago.

Worst news of all is that the Taliban is completely justified in hating America.

As usual all we did was make things worse by half-assing it.

How is this 'scary' for an American? Doesn't it just make you feel at home?

Americans protest at state-legislatures "fully armed". They go to _coffee shops_ "fully armed".
If you notice, I didn't circle any guns in the photo. I thought I was being a straight shooter in my comment when I was suggesting the guy on the left wouldn't be....

If you wanna get serious, take it to P&N. :p

Nope....pictures of me at parties and ex girlfriends that never got over me ruined that.

States are their own country to an extent. That sounds Texas style but not common elsewhere.

S.C. just passed open carry. Stupid, imo.

However open is better then concealed.... still though its really hard for a shooting of any kind to happen when folks are not packing a loaded weapon everywhere.
It wasn't unusual at all to see people open carrying in Nebraska.

Can you imagine how "open-carry" in NYC or Newark would go? :p

More like open warfare !!! :confused_old:

Have you done both? Advantages and disadvantages?

No, but then although I know how to shoot fairly well I don't currently own a gun.

I prefer to see guns carried by law-abiding citizens rather then have them hidden.
Seems fairly straightforward to me.

What may seem straightforward to you is far from the general consensus of those who have more than zero experience.

Carry permits usually require background checks and training, while felons are not permitted to posses firearms.

Concealing a firearm does not make a permit holder any less law abiding than open carry turning a felon into a good guy.

The advantages of concealment easily outweigh the disadvantages.

I tried to add to my post but got the stupid server-error... I have ZERO problem with properly trained folks carrying any way they want to do so. (short of waving the thing around in public!)

I do however have a HUGE problem with the average id10+ walking around armed to the teeth.

And while I don't have personal experience (I never claimed to have any) that in no way precludes some knowledge of the subject at hand or reading and learning more.
