Stephen Colbert had a good one last night:

"Putin is playing chess and Donald is eating his checkers."

I wonder if Trump is going to hire a number of models to line up so Putin can grab them by the pussy as he walks by.

The Dotard just wants to bring his boss over for dinner. I'm sure they'll just eat Big Macs and talk about golf.
I think his boss is going to put him on a performance plan after all his back tracking this week.

I hadn't considered this despite considering the possibility that he didn't want to get elected in the first place. Maybe a candidate for the 21st Century version of "The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin"?

I am wondering what next though, perhaps Trump will offer Putin his presidential powers for a day, and Trump fanatics will say "what's the worst that could happen?", and even just the offer/suggestion of an offer will likely result in claims of "nothing happened".

You get a big 'like' just for mentioning one of the funniest shows ever made.

btw, personally I don't believe for a second that Trump didn't actually want to win.

We might need a how long til DNI Coats resigns/is fired thread. Apparently before the interview yesterday where he sarcastically responded to learning of the news about the Putin invite the WH spoke to his office and didn’t tell them anything about it.

He’s only be very blunt this week rebuking Trump and his bs. Tick tock.

I should have been more specific. Of course he wanted to win, but he didn't want the prize, ie. the presidency.

I'm surprised you know the show, you're Canadian aren't you? AFAIK it's not one of the more famous UK shows of the 70s...

No, I firmly believe that he does want to be president/dictator

Re the Fall and Rise, yeah, Canadian. Watched the series on the Seattle PBS station starting around 1981 or 82 I think. It was a couple of years or so after the series finished in the UK. It was pure accident that I started watching (I tend to like Brit tv). I absolutely loved it. Wouldn't go out the nights it played. Laughed so hard I fell of the couch more than once. After each episode my sides *always* ached from laughing. I have the series and re watch various episodes fairly often.

I guess I'm a bit of a fan. :)

Note to Donald.....
The boss is in the building. Everybody look busy.

I'd love to hear that phone conversation between Putin and Donald.
Putin: "Damn it Donald, I told you what to say in Helsinki. Then you go back and do a 180. Looks like I need to come over there and set you straight".

Donald: "I'm sorry boss. I screwed up. Mi casa es tu casa. You know that boss.
Oh, boss? You're not bringing the piss tape, are you boss?"

Putin: "Donald, just learn your lines. We'll talk. Just don't screw up again next time."

Donald: "And the piss tape, boss?"
Putin: "(Click. Phone hanging up)."
Donald: "Boss? Boss? Hello? Hello? Hello?"

We all should be really really REALLY happy that Putin is coming over.
Trump says one thing when Putin is in the room, then walks back his words when in front of the American press and no Putin in the room.
A true sign of a real pussy.
And a true sign of a president absolutely being blackmailed.
What is it that Putin has on Donald Trump??????
Just wait....
The two will be on stage once again during this upcoming Putin visit. The media will again re-ask the very same question "did Russia hack our election", and Donald Trump's answer will be?????
With Putin once again standing right there beside Donald?
THAT answer will be PRICELESS. :D
THIS.... is worth staying up for kiddies.

I think that Trump inviting Pukin to the US for another "summit" is like a gift from God to the Democrats, no one with an IQ above a toaster-oven bought that laughable "walk-back". If you watch the presser in it's entirety it's obvious that Trump is kissing ass like a toilet seat, his whole "very powerful, very strong" comments regarding Pukin's denial are all one needs to see TBH. Now with the 2nd meeting tentatively scheduled to happen right as the mid-terms are in progress it could not get worse for GOP incumbents trying to hold on. Then we have no idea what Muller has up his sleeve, don't think for a second he has not seen the "witch hunt" shit thrown his direction literally every single day, it's not coincidence the 12 indictments were dropped when they were, he knew dump would not cancel his "summit" and the timing guaranteed questions were going to asked. Muller has one important thing going for him, his staff have not allowed any "leaks" whatsoever so when he finally is ready to announce his findings it will hit that much harder. I hope he throws a cinder-block at dump a week before the next "summit", that would be priceless indeed!.

I don't care if this has been discussed elsewhere...this preposterous offer deserves its own thread. WTF??? The first one didn't go bad enough??

Is the WH (including Trump) TRYING to get impeached??? Are they taking whatever measures necessary for McConnell and Ryan to take action? Seems like GOP Congress is like, "don't care, you're staying put until Kavanaugh's confirmed!"

Also, check out DNI Dan Coats' reaction when asked about it at the Aspen Security Forum:
https://twitter.com/evanmcmurry/status/1020043098552819712?s=21

Thing is, Kavanagh or SCOTUS really doesn't matter. whether it was Trump, Cruz, Jeb, or Slimey McDickcheese asshole conservative #4 that was elected POTUS, every one of them would have picked from the same list of 5-10 SCOTUS candidates hand-selected by the Heritage foundation. The GOP [faceless human here] POTUS, over the last 2 or 3 decades, has really only been beholden to this group of anti-American regressives, as they have singly handpicked the stock of justices to be placed in all federal seats.

So, Trump is really something worse, something far more craven when it comes to the GOP. The SCOTUS seat doesn't matter, specifically to Trump, because Pence or Ryan would just put in the same fascist asshole. No, the GOP loves something else about Trump, which one must imagine is truly terrifying. I think the GOP is fundamentally sick of this country, and want to see it a smoldering mound of ashes. They believe that Trump is their man.

You have to consider the Russian counter counter psyops game as well... I would be very surprised if there wasnt full scale operations in play right now to compromise members of Muellers team if not the man him self. I think the US critical political infrastructure is *that* compromised.. I cant make sense of congress any other way.

Putin against Trump is a given loss for the latter, but Putin needs to be careful with Mueller as our prosecutor has a better understanding of the evil that men can do. More than likely if there were skeletons in Mueller's closet we would have heard about them already. My sense is that smearing Mueller would be like the CIA doing the same with Hans Blix to discredit him and that didn't work out well. Right now the greatest danger is Kavanaugh who would have supported Nixon and likewise protect Trump.

Our GOP Congress is compromised by big right wing money. They're the utterly cynical & exploitative agents of top down class warfare. Whatever reason working people think they have to vote for them they get greater economic exploitation instead. Every time.
